The most important part of this assembly is the lock latch on the arms, and yet no zoom in to show exactly how its done. Shows the brain matter level of some people these days. The rest was good though... thanks.
Hi, Thanks for your feedback. The telescopic support legs should be easy to unfold. They are lowered vertically from the front frame and stand automatically in the correct position to be set at the right height using the Quick Lock system. The quick lock system should be user friendly and is applied simply my positioning the lever upwards. Should you purchase the item it will also be explained in the instructions. The height of the support legs can easily be set or adjusted using the patented Quick Lock system. Hope this helps! >J
My sentiments exactly. The PLASTIC lever on the side of the strut is so confusing. It has what looks like 2 positions... open and close, but in fact I find later it has 3 position. Open, close, and lock. The lock position is where the trouble started for me. I call the seller to ask, and he said just to push the lever hard back (this is past the open position) and it will lock into place. Well I do this, and guess what... this piece of plastic snapped, just like I thought it would when you have to apply so much pressure on a tinny piece of cheap plastic, what would and dumb ass think hugh? But I was told to do it and assured it would not break. Brand new and look what happens lol. I have since worked out a strategy for the other strut, and that is not to push at the lever end... push it halfway down where there is more meat to the lever. I agree the designer has not much between the ears. Also, the ends flap like a wind sail on a yacht for goodness sake. Not happy with this awning.
Unfortunately silicon sealant is not UV resistant (even though it claims to be). Marine Sikaflex is the way to go, and inject some into the screw holes before inserting galvanized screws as an additional precaution.
If that could happen, the rail wasn´t installed correctly. It´s not the screws that fit the rail in place and carry the load, it´s the Sika!! (Did you use some??!)
Did intend getting one of these for my camper van, that is until I noticed the price of them,......£200 for a glorified curtain rail ????. For another £100 you could go for a Fiamma full roll out system complete. Reimo Multi rip off..!!!
