Thoughts on the iKamper x-cover 3.0? Seems like they’ve made a lot of upgrades. I’m also considering the FSR high country mini v2 and 23zero walkabout or breezeway 2.0. What tent would you recommend other than these?
I had one of these with the flannel like like liner, loved the room hated the liner. Damn thing would stick to me when rolling around, sucked. I bought a Wiggy's Hunter Super light, never looked back.
E' chiaro che ti hanno pagato per le cazzate che dici. Nessuno sano di mente comprerebbe un affilatore così per dei buoni coltelli, nemmeno in condizioni estreme di sopravvivenza.
Only few things changed on the HDX pros compared to the HDX in this video. HDX pros now take AA batteries, 50mm objective, better light transmission(from what Sig says),and instead of target mode, it automatically senses when you slow your panning it increases the stability higher than when you’re moving faster glassing. Not sure if they are that much different IMO as far as stability though, target mode is ROCK SOLID on the standard HDX’s(or Gen 2 as you’re calling them). But damn good Binos no matter what “Gen” you choose.
There's no point in getting a RTT that can't stand up to wind and rain and fails within the first 18 months. This tent is not cheap, and it is extremely disappointing to hear that manufacturers design expensive inferior products that aren't fit for purpose. These tents are a shelter, but can't be used in the wind and rain, so why would anyone spend close to $3000 on it. Well done to you for telling it like it is and not being just another shill for a free product!
my local costo just had it for $60! like a fool i waited a day and they took them off the shelves. checked another costco and had it for 119. i have a feeling costcos will have them at $60 again any day now; before they rack em for the season
You didn't include the king of the cheap stoves: BRS 3000T. It's less than half the weight of the lightest stove you show there and around the same price as the other cheap Amazon stove. In my experience, piezo lighters aren't reliable no matter what stove they're on. I have never used a canister stand and it hasn't been an issue to find an area of dirt or loose terrain where I can flatten it. I also don't use a hard case. The stove easily fits inside my pot. It typically sits near the top of my pack. Put a small cloth (bandana) if the stove is moving around to much. I've used the BRS stove on 223 mile thru hike of the Ouachita Trail, kayak camping, and many weekend and overnight trips. I will say that where I hike in Arkansas, the tallest mountain in the state is 2753 feet. There's nothing above treeline. When I have camped on a windy lake, I used a windscreen to protect the flame. That does mean there's a weight penalty. I use the Optimus clip on windscreen because it's convenient and sturdy. But you could make something lighter weight that would work just as well, I'm sure. Even with the windscreen, which I would wager renders the BRS more efficient in windy conditions than those other stoves in the same conditions, it will cost about half the price of the name brand stoves. On the majority of trips I take, where I do my backpacking, I don't need the windscreen. If those other stoves were manufactured in the US, I could justify forking over the extra money, but they aren't. BRS 3000T weighs less than an ounce. The cheap Amazon stove you reviewed here weighs more than 3 ounces. Thru hikers on the AT and PCT etc carry the BRS 3000T for their whole trip with not issues.
Rather than running all three stoves for an hour and wasting three canisters of fuel, you could have just weighed the canisters before running the stove, run the stove for 10 minutes exactly on max, then weigh the canister to see which stove used the most fuel. All you tests have a lot of variables, since you are testing outside. Other stove tests I have seen do it in a garage or warehouse where they have more control over the variables ...and fewer mosquitos. If you want to compare how stoves behave in wind, you can put a fan on them at a specified speed and distance from each stove. That way there's much less variability. Like I said above, a wind shield/screen can greatly improve your boil times and efficiency, and with a stove like the BRS, will still cost less than the brand name stoves and way smaller and less bulk and heavy than the big jet-boil or MSR heat diffuser style stove/pot combos.
The system is pressurized and the second you unscrewed the cap in the middle of the test to see how much water was left it "ran out of water". Then you started it back up with the top unscrewed and we could see/hear the pump fighting to deliver water but with no pressure. Looks like user error from my point of view.
Did a test with this on mist setting. Lasted 19 minutes and 20 seconds from full to empty. Noticed that it started to bog out with .5 gallons left in the tank. It would come out, but stuttering.
i have a vector jumper. it's got a small (pointless) light, 3 usb charging ports, and a compressor. Stuff like this is pretty handy for emergencies, like a dead battery or flat tire
I picked one up at Costco for $150 to spray off small balcony at my apartment because we do not have an outdoor faucet and going to use it with my motorcycle and other light duty.
How much time do you get out of the water tank before it's empty? Curious if it was similar to mine. time it for me would you, fill it up, and hold down the sprayer, when water stops, how long was it?
It lasted 2 minutes and 41 seconds from full to .5 gallons left before stuttering and eventually struggling to do anything. A whole minute less than what you got in the video.
Also the instructions are real vague, when u use wall charger , will the light turn green ? The gauge is reading over 12 v but the wall jack is still red

This seems very cumbersome and takes up a-lot of storage space for what it does. Hike crew or bouegerv dont req two boxes to have a shower - only a bucket or jug.
The Hyper Heater is AWESOME still! The Rinsekit works well, but damn you dont have a lot of time at all before the water is empty(Don't recommend that product unless you have a lot of extra water on hand)
