"Even though this was just a silly idea from the start, I think I proved to myself that a weird concept like this can be interesting and very much worth doing." Agreed! Fun video. Glad I came along for the ride.
Hello Eric! I just came across your video when I was thinking of buying a ripstik! I have a question. Which one should I buy in your opinion? As far as I understand, ripster is smaller and lighter and the other one is like yours - has a longer pipe between pedals. I am 1.70 and 72kg. I will order it on Amazon and shipping is expensive so I have to be sure about my choice of the model bc it will be a one time buy for me for a long time. I also wonder if I can use it -not so smooth roads also?
Hello! I would recommend the one I have. It’s the Ripstik pro and even though it is more expensive it’s worth it. Especially on not as smooth roads. Should last longer too!
I think it would have been easier if you had a better technique on the Ripstik, by using a lot more your shoulders. By engaging the shoulders, it's easier for the legs. But it seems lke your legs were strong enough to achieve the distance without a better technique 😁 Thanks for the video !
No lie i didnt look at your subs untill the end of the vid, and i was surprised you dont have thousands of subs. I can definitely respect the dedication and commitment. All in all great work man!
been getting into freeskates and had a similar albiet less extreme example getting to much speed that I couldn't stop and ended up eating it. Luckly landed in the grass and got away with only minor brusing. Hills (even one that aren't that steep) can be dangerous if you get too much speed and don't know how to slow yourself down.
Nice one! I've loved it, pretty well scheduled and edited, it felt like a 5 minute video, enjoyed it a lot!! Keep on with this original/crazy ideas, you will crush it 🔥
If your technique was better you would progress more efficiently. Use you hips AND upper body like on Freeskates or Snakeboards/Streetboards. Only doing the whiggle is beginner movement. And the original wheels are crap. Luckily you had a helm on which has no real use. Better would be whrist and elbow guards.
I just bought one and should be arriving today! I had one as a kid but it was an off brand tiny one that I outgrew so I'm hoping it's like riding a bike and I can hop back on and roll at 29 years old haha 😅
Great video! Good job figuring out the wheel issue before actually going for the full marathon, that would have saved me a ton of hassle on my attempt.
Aw thank you I appreciate the kind words :) But basically I just come up with a vague idea for what I want to do and then get started. Slowly as I start actually doing whatever it is I'm doing, more ideas will come to me one at a time that I can implement. I'm not one of those people who can just picture something and then execute it, I kind of have to feel my way through a lot of different things before I get an idea I like. Sometimes those new ideas require starting over or completely changing direction which can be tough but it's usually worth it. The best creative advice I've ever heard was "kill your darlings" and to be honest I'm not totally sure what it's supposed to mean but to me it means just because I spent a lot of time on a certain aspect of a project doesn't mean it has to make it into the final product. Which is hard to do but it's something that I've found gets easier with practice. This video is a good example because it was not going the best for me when I first started but I just kept working at it and changing directions until it eventually turned into something I liked. Also I kind of let the story/idea lead me rather than try to force it the way I want it to go, and all I have to do to get the idea to lead me is simply get started... this is kind of a ramble but hopefully it makes sense
Dude! Boomers and Zoomers don't know shit about shit? You can educate without being insulting...your content overall is informative and entertaining. Do what you can to avoid alienating if you wish to expand.
Yeah I guess if you wanna do it on hard mode go right ahead. But if you want something that’ll taste good maybe just stick to food that only needs a few steps to make... like PPJ or pizza rolls
