As with most Penn State wrestlers Carter has a very high opinion of himself. Carter was at the trials and had a chance to make the team. That did not happen. Carter also had the opportunity to face burroughs, but could not or would not make weight. If and this is highly unlikely Carter even comes close to Jordans accomplishments, then he may have a respected opinion. Until that time keep your mouth shut and stop over daddy Caels for some reasurement that you are the best.
Jordan Burroughs is the absolute man forever. He should have eternal respect and admiration for his accomplishments. Imo? Disrespecting JB's skills, accomplishments and personality reflects negatively upon the person and/or people doing so.
If JB wrestling like he did at trials I don’t think so. What do you think starocci v JB looks like at 79. It’s a guess but AB proved that this younger generation is to be feared.. Adeline gray is super decorated but the youngster blades was superior. The sport is not as accommodating to the old timers. If he doesn’t win final x it will just detract from his greatness.
Jordan never said he would try to “hurt”your injured leg. He said he would “attack it” to win just like Bo will in a cage with a guy who is hurt someplace. Mitch attacked JB after the whistle all match and was hit 10 seconds in with a club … nice omission.
The phrase "four time NCAA division 1 national champion" no longer has any significance to me. Starocci is juvenile, adolescent, moronic. And if the other Penn State wrestlers, previous or present, feel as he does so are they. I still am a Penn State fan but my support in waning.
Yes, yes, and more yes. College Westling is a huge machine. But why do so many people shoot for more? They want to get on that plane. Many will never make it, but it’s really is so next level, and does separate the men from the boys. Take daton fix for example. No disrespect but he’s finished. He did get one silver world but he can’t beat present competition. He has the collegiate record nobody wants. Second. The next level is the shit. And the only point is that JB (and Taylor for that matter), dominated it. Gable Stevenson I wished came out. But anyhow, I bring this all up just to highlight the greatness of Jordan Burroughs. Both as a competitor and ambassador of the sport. He woke this all back up. Who in the 90’s was really into college wrestling? Wrestling families and that’s it. Jordan Burroughs helped transcend the sport from an interest level. Women’s wrestling has soared! I don’t want to say Jordan Burroughs did that alone, but he surely was a helpful piece with reviving wrestling culture. He has earned respect but it also might have gone to his head.
Im NJ Guy remember Burroughs in HS,,,Been my favorite freestyler for 12 years ...now I can't stand him ...He is so vain and arrogant ..All he talked about was himself while announcing NCAA's .."I won Worlds with a broken leg"..."I won my first Title and wasn't happpy I didnt score more ".."I did this I did that ...that was so bush league not giving Starocci any credit or praise for winning a 4th title ,,just says he's going after his bad knee"..Looks like Starocci is leaning towards coming back for a 5th tittle ...Burroughs knows he will never beat Dake again ..might not even beat Nolf ...So he's hanging on to wrestle at 79k ...he better hope Starocci does go MMA because he will never beat him ...
JB paved the ground for you as an African American in this sport in the modern area.. dont forget that ever!!!! Starocci soon if you lucky that weight will be on your shoulders !!
As a Mindset Coach, MM has it all down and will continue to have sustained success. I watched him do resets in matches and turn things around. Incredible!
“Pray & let God lead you,” & then spit in a guys face…. Keep pushing your “Faith in God” to people who don’t know any better Penn State…. 🤡🤡🤡 This dudes about to disappear into oblivion..
He’s right the higher ups are horrible at making wrestling viewable for the average viewer could change 10 things right now and start the long process of growing the sport starting with fixing tournaments
Penn state wrestling has become a bigger and bigger circle jerk, all this nonsense makes me want to root against them and hope some other organizations can step up and challenge their dominance
I love Starocci but for him to say he could sit on the couch for years and come back off the couch and dominate made me laugh! He must not understand how many of us wrestlers thought that and have tried it and guess what happens? It usually 9/10 does NOT work out like we thought it would! I dont care how good and how in shape you were in your prime, you're not sitting on the couch for 2 or 3 years, jumping off the couch with a month of training and gonna be that same wrestler! It just doesn't happen in this sport its too grueling and competitive for that! Unlike any other sport, your using muscles that you dont even realize your using and its just a whole different animal! Made me laugh though because I thought that same way when I was younger lol
JB is 17 years older than Mitchell. Mitchell has already accomplished more as a freshmen than JB did as a freshman. Give him time. JB won nothing Nationally in College. Didn’t Mitchell win U20’s
@@TimM-wk1zx All the more reason to be amazed at JB's accomplishments. He worked his butt off and persevered in spite of not having the early pedigree. Talk to me after Mitch has 7 combined world championships...not going to happen.
Dan, I’ll go SLOW for you….NEITHER DID JB IN COLLEGE. Carter has 14 years and Mitchell has 17 years till they are JB’s age. I think Mitchell will have a stellar Olympic record till he’s done. I think Carter wins number 5, then goes MMA. When Carter comes back next year, I bet he will wrestle fewer than 14 matches before Nationals.
@@TimM-wk1zx Fair enough...I will go even slower for you. College isn't squat compared to international competition. Neither of these punks will accomplish half of what JB has done...combined!
Nice name calling….it seems to always come from the cheap seats. These “PUNKS” as YOU call them, are academic scholars….The cumulative Team GPA is 3.85 for Christ Sakes. Ppl fail to realize how many kids at Penn States wrestling team are there on full academic scholarships. Punks is outta line, and ANY team in the country would be happy to have these guys, but no other team is getting production out of their guys like Penn State. Mitchell is 17 years younger the JB, so I’d bet on Mitchell plus the 17 years. Mitchell was the U20 world champ….was JB?
@@gavingonzales9854 I mean people are saying Jordan is the greatest to ever do it and no matter what he does people stand behind him, they quite literally could be jealous. 4 time champ or not.
Carter is a good wrestler. I get what he is saying and all. But he has nothing on Burroughs. Zero world team appearances and zero world titles versus 7 (including one Olympic gold). As for sportsmanship. Carter said he wanted to piss on his opponent’s grave. These guys are always preaching Christianity. Such a farce.
You disrespect expect it back. Starocci has the right mind set. It’s just talk/eye for eye. What matters is the circle/mat nothing else. It does get the general public excited.
You all have no reason to be mad at JB. Grow up you little millennial punk cry babies! Jordan said nothing out of the ordinary, you all act like he wanted to break his leg when all he said is what anyone would do. If a guy is wanting to compete with a hurt leg be ready to have it used against you, that’s just the reality ! Doesn’t mean he will attack your leg fighting style but i would attack it to meaning single legs, hi crotches whatever. That’s what he meant. Grow up !
It’s a shame, I really wanted to cheer for this kid all throughout college, but the behavior of the Penn State fans at this event has led me, and every one of my friends who attended the event to root against Penn State. Their fans behavior was deplorable and disrespectful on every front. The officiatins bias in Penn States favor in almost every match. It was so apparent. Penn State is a cancer to our sport.
“We don’t care who you are, You’re not welcome over here, you’re the enemy, we don’t care about your accolades, youre in enemy territory, you’re the enemy.” Wow! So much for Jesus, praying, and the Lord. That is the M.O. for PSU Wrestling. Thomas Gilman wrestled there after college to get better for international competition. He said, this past weekend, “I wrestled there for a couple years, they were sort of nice to me, but let me know on a daily basis the he wasn’t one of them. He was still the enemy” What you have here, in my opinion, are cafeteria Christians. The preach the love of god but only practice their religion with each other. It’s situational Christianity. That’s NOT very Christian. Matthew 22:37-39 Leviticus 19:18 I know, there coach, if he reads those passages, will understand. Hopefully, they change their ways. The way they treat outsiders Is very much cult like, in many ways. Pray for them! Forgive them!
Liberal Mike, didn’t know you were ordained….If you listen to the latest Gilman interview, he likes it there, and is a changed man IMO. Who’s ur team Mike😇, run through a wall for Coach Iowa?
@@TimM-wk1zx June 1993 is when I was ordained. I like the sport more than I support the teams. Ya gotta give respect to Oklahoma, Penn State, Iowa, Ohio State, Mizzou, and so on for their rich history in the sport. I’ve wrestled, competed, and coached for 42 years before I retired. What I love most about the sport is the mutual respect shown to each other by the wrestlers, coaches,& the majority of the fans. I have an issue When it gets contentious. It makes it more entertaining, and that’s important, but ya gotta be careful or it could turn into the WWE. Just my opinion. I could be wrong. But then again, I could be correct.
It IS entertainment, but certainly NOT SCRIPTED like the WWE. Any reference to it being like WWE is ridiculous. Do we need all the fanfare at gatherings like this….NO, but it’s better than numbers of college teams wrestling in a high school gym where there’s no seating. I think the BJC was a great venue for this, and I’d think the majority of the ppl involved or watching would think the same. I think wrestling is a struggle, is contentious….i mean, we aren’t knitting. There’s going to be emotion, there will be elation and hurt feelings. It’s part of the territory.
