14:40 I think the bang against metal when you pull the throttle is supposed to be like that. I have the handlebar controller from an old Sega Cool Riders game I salvaged, which I have connected to MAME and PCBs of motorcycle games, and that controller uses the same throttle and brake system. Either way, I found this video extremely handy for when I need to replace the parts for both these. Thank you for what you do in restoring classic games like these. By the way - the NOS grips you put in. Are those the same grips from Harley Davidson? Those have a really strong silicone smell to them that lasts years, whereas the grips in Manx and Cool Riders were of a slightly thinner rubber and did not have the silicone scent to them.
Hi, just saw your video, brought back memories. When I got my Panic Park a bunch of years ago I had to replace the same rubbers. The reason the arcade sold it to me was the controllers were allowing peoples hands to hit each other when the wheels and rubbers were gone. People were complaining about injuries! Thanks for video, was fun. Btw- if you're still reading these, did you ever try changing language to English via 'other' menu settings? Mine is locked on 'JPN' and won't change. Thanks
Thanks! Yeah, this game need maintenance to keep running in an arcade for sure. I believe I tried to change it to English and I wasn’t able to. Mine definitely came from Japan, but there were a few English versions out there. If the roms were ever ripped, it might be doable. I know people have tried for armadillo racing and it worked.
Great video. We've had one of these show up at California Extreme for a bunch of years... and I never even looked at it. Now I want to play it!! Haha. Thanks for sharing!
Typing of the dead is awesome, had it on dreamcast. Also, I just missed out on a standup sega net city I saw listed in CA. Maybe you picked it up, but i dont think it was typing of the dead related? Anyway looks good and good luck restoring.
Yeah, it really is a great game, very addictive and should be fun with non-arcade people. Not sure if it’s the same cabinet, this guy made me a deal with both after I bought one.
TIMBER! I'm jealous... I've got one in my garage right now, but it doesn't belong to me! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fLnaz6Lbtmo.htmlsi=Og16jM-QBrf40f8g
Hi, you can start a 2 player game, but you alternate. It is not a simultaneous 2 player game. That would be fun though. I think Timber is the only midway MCR game of that era that is 2 player simultaneous.
I got the daughter ROM boards for MANX TT. I will try to install them at some point so I can also play that game. I know a lot of people really like MANX TT.
You've got some amazing pieces, SO jealous of Stranger Things Premium & Marble Madness, and that Gunsmoke cab is gorgeous, I have 8 pins and 2 arcades, pins include my Godzilla Premium, 5 80'solid states, and 2 Gottlieb wedgeheads, Neo Geo Candy Cab & a Asteroids Deluxe I converted to a killer mame cab
Thanks! So for the “race leader” lights, the incandescent were working great, so I’ll keep them for now. When I get the marquee topper on, I may switch to LED tubes depending on what condition they are in and if I can do it affordably.
Looks to be great shape considering it's age. You don't see many big 1990s arcade machines like this anymore. Many were scrapped and thrown in the dumpster.
Yeah, sad reality. So many showcase games gone. I hope there are other people trying to save these giants, I can probably only keep one at a time because of space.
hey bud, worth swapping the boards to other side to test if the graphical issues are the result of a buggy psu. if it's not that then yeah likely a ram chip. Good luck with the restoration!
Thanks! I need to do an update video. I sent the board to irepairsega and Ken fixed the Ram issue. I have both boards working great now, just need to finish the bikes.
Thank you! I would look for japanese game importers on facebook. I don't know what country you are in, so you will have to ask around your community of collectors. Facebook groups are a good place to start.
