Not many people know that the word translated "spirit" in verse twenty-one (ruach) is the same word that is translated "breath" in verse nineteen. Thus, verse twenty-one is true. Nobody knows which way the breath goes when it leaves man or beast. We just know that when the breath leaves both man and beast return to the dust they came from. ✴ _18 I said to myself concerning the sons of men, “God has surely tested them in order for them to see that they are but beasts.” 19 For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same. (Revelation 22:18-19) ‘All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.’ (2 Timothy 3:16) God used men as instruments to write His ‘letter’ to humanity. 1,500 years, 60 generations, 40 authors, different walks of life, different places, different times, different moods, different continents, three languages, writing on hundreds of controversial subjects. Yet when they are brought together there is absolute harmony from beginning to end..There is no other book in history to even compare to the uniqueness of this continuity. The Word of God can be trusted. It’s prophecies have been fulfilled, end time signs unfolding before our very eyes. It’s promises have been tested, it’s principles for living really works. Having prayerfully read the scriptures over 25 years I personally have found God faithful and true to His word. I cannot say that about anyone else. I have responded according to God’s word and it is up to the individual to search the truth for themselves. God does say those who seek Him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, ‘Will’ find Him.’ Jesus Christ the Messiah is the Way, the Truth and the Life.🔥📖🔥

Have you looked at or read "The Urantia Book," "A Course in Miracles," or the "Conversations with God" series by Neale Donald Walshe? I believe the "Word of God" did not start with the Bible (e.g. the prophets of old) nor did it end over 2000 years ago. His Word continues to be revealed to us through more modern channels. MHO.

Nor sure I agree. Certainly the bod dies, but we are not just a body. We are body/mind/spirit. The soul doesn't die. When Jesus appeared to the disciples, he said something along the lines of "Don't touch me, as I have not fully ascended to the Father." So there seems to be an in-between state where spirit survives.

I have no idea what that has to do with pets being reunited with their owners in heaven. Surely, God loves dogs. God is Love. "He that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him."

Wow! Wonderful experience. I had something like that myself. The following morning I walked the some old route we used to walk. It was only a split second, but there my sweet Bear-bear was in all his glory, only now he was about 15 feet tall, and as I walked into his white, furry chest he disappeared. It was so REAL to me. None of the naysayers here on this discussion can even begin to understand the powerful LOVE and assurance that vision provided for me.

What a sad concept.
