WELCOME to my HOMESTEAD CHANNEL! Hello, my channel will be a documenting record of my garden that I have elevated to growing food and to enjoy the beautiful nature that God has made available for our blessings! I also have a Devotional LIVE (Wednesday’s @9am est) I live in the state of Connecticut Zone 6b. I am a women that daily seeks the Lords Word, a mother (2), grandmother(4), a Vietnam war era Veteran, a retired Sargent Army Dental Assistant and a retired Dental supervisor for the Endodontic Resident/student clinic for the State University Dental School (UCONN). I hope that I can excite an interest in gardening from all who view, and share what I do to seasoned gardeners! This is my garden! This is my passion! I want to grow healthy food for my family! I strive to try new things each growing season. Each seed/plant has a story to tell! I'd love to tell the story with you! Come join me through the mistakes, triumphs and love of gardening! Peace!
Did you say those gorgeous purple flowers were dahlias? I gotta get me some. You still have a lot going on, awesome. I highly encourage you to start raising some worms, that would be a perfect compliment to your beautiful compost. In the process of harvesting a couple hundred pounds of castings, pure black gold. We got hit by a few frost's early last week, pulled my mediocre sweet potato harvest and most of the pink tomatoes. I am surprised the tomatoes I left on the vines are still doing OK, YAH!!! Only flowers I have left are some cosmos, calendula, marigolds and borage, I pick all the other flower heads that did not go to seed for the birds and save them for the worms, flower heads have a lot of micronutrients. All I have still growing are some broccoli, carrots, raspberries, fennel and a mixed cover crop of daikon radish and hairy vetch, need to plant my garlic this week. Did a garden tour before the frost last week, but I can't get it downloaded to my computer, I am so lame, lol. Beautiful garden as always! Stay Well my friend!!!!
Your flowers are beautiful. That pest pressure on the kale. It’s good they didn’t get your collards. Got to love that compost and super juice. You are so right. You all are winners. Thanks for the update.🤗💚
You did an amazing job explaining the process, canning is such a fun thing to do. It is such a blessing to be able to grow and can our own food, a lot of work but so worth it. Great video!
