This was one of my most played PS1 games. Definitely my favourite destruction derby style of game, ever. PS1 games just had a different vibe and atmosphere, Wreckfest is an amazing destruction derby game too but it doesn’t have an atmosphere like the PS1 games did.
That was a nightmare. Massive nightmare. He was fighting back from the 4 first races with no points due to the fragile gearbox the Williams had, and Nigel was fighting back for the title and winning races. That race comes after Barcelona and so on, he was catching Senna for the title. And then.... this happened.
Just an observation, but other drivers, notably Senna, enter the box slower in a more controlled manner, Mansell, who lost a few wheels in his career, never hit the marks, in this film he is nearly sideways in the box, giving the wheel change crew a harder time, stretching the wheel hammer air hose for example.
Played this game so much with my cousin on PS1 on splitscreen in the early 2000's, until our parents told us many times, to go sleep. It was absolutely exciting.
I don't even like car games, like, at all, but I had this when I was young and completely forgot what the theme song sounded like until I started listening to it, and then I remembered each part as I got to it. (Somehow I remembered DD2's song pretty much perfectly even though it's hardly even a song.)
@@superb60ce If Frank Williams weren't such a blockhead (I agree with you completely), Mansell would have been champion in 1992-1993-1994-1995-1996-1997. Regardless of what Prost, Senna, or Schumacher were doing, he would have won these championships.
@@ohmygawdhey If I remember correctly, Wreckfest was more of a spiritual successor to Flatout which came out later, since Bugbears is the same studio that made Flatout.
