This is how good Engström is. If he averages 80ish in international tournaments its probably stage freight or something, Played against him many times now irl and he is around 100 regularly
Littler gets infuriated with himself when he plays badly. Yes, he hates losing but this will only make him work on his game more and get even better. They all want to crush each other every game but are all amicable off-camera. MVG loves giving it the big ‘I am…’ in his interviews playing mind games with the other players… he does it to build up his own confidence but he is on very dodgy ground in the league and might not qualify. Littler knows he has got MVG very worried…!
Littler and MVG seem to be at a level where they could beat each other 50% of the time. In their games where both players are playing well I always put Littler favourite due to his devastating accuracy on the trebles but his weakness can be finishing. MVG still needs a few wins to be certain to qualify. If Littler meets MVG in the final then I think Littler wins comfortably…!
I swear I often get the sense that MVG plays psychological games with his opponents by bringing the quality of the darts down to a low level and then suddenly turning the skill up to the max and taking his opponents completely by surprise. Probably all in my head, but I don't think I've watched another player who goes from throwing literally all over the shop to instant perfection.
@@AlastairBarker Damned sure he is. MVG is still my favourite to win the Premier League of Darts in May. Got my ticket already. Admittedly it's up in the nosebleed seats where an air stewardess will be demonstrating how to use the oxygen masks if a table full of beer bellies all decide to get up at once and then slam straight back down into their flimsy plastic seats.
