@@BlackroseAloryFx Thanks I appreciate the link, I have to be honest though behind the scenes my mom is the real hero - she knows far more than I do and I'm always learning from her!
@@BlackroseAloryFx thank you so muc. You have no idea how much that means! Growing things is hard and from close up it often feels like we're failing! We really appreciate it!
So true, Nicole! A lot of food for thought. We need to weigh up all the food our soul and spirit consume by the standard of the Word and not the standard of the norm around us. If our soul and spirit consume "junk food", how can our beings thrive? 🌿
That's exactly what got me thinking. If I'm taking my signals from the world, then I'm probably not living as the Salt and Light Christ has called me to be!
At first I was gonna say, that’s a very wide lens you got there. But then you mentioned GoPro, and I was like aaaaahh. Lost your voice though half way in the video 🙈 Haha farming looks fun 👌
As a retired optician here in the USA I'm always pleased to see and hear someone so excited about getting glasses or getting new glasses. But you have every reason to be excited about getting your new glasses for many reasons. One is how nice it is being able to wear a new pair of glasses that look so different from your previous glasses. Another reason is because wearing glasses ahs become so popular now for so many women. And maybe the best reason of all is all the additions you now have in your glasses that you didn't have in your previous glasses. You got the option of having a blue light blocking coating on your lenses as well as an AR coating (anti-reflective) Having both of those features should make your glasses even more comfortable than you previous glasses were. The blue light blocking coating for anyone that spends much time with their eyes staring at screens is in my opinion almost a necessity not only for those already wearing glasses but even for those with perfect eyesight as well. I don't know if your previous glasses may have had the AR coating on them, but if not you're going to really appreciate having it on your new glasses very quickly. Oh and let me n ot forget another big difference in your glasses that your glasses are now varifocals or what we call them here in the states "progressives". Your previous glasses were only needed for seeing distances because you were and still are nearsighted or as you may call it "shortsighted". Actually you may be interested in knowing that the technical name for being nearsighted is to s you have "myopia" or that you're "myopic. Your new glasses actually have 3 segments in them. The upper part is what you had in your previous glasses and you will be looking through this area when looking off in the distance for things like driving. Then right below that area is called your "midrange" area. This area is great for things not too fa away but further away than what a book would be. So you may find this area best when suing your computer. if the monitor is about 20" to 24" away from your eyes. Then the lowest area of your glasses is the reading add. This area is where you want your eyes looking through when reading a book or doing some other close up work. In watching your video i was very impressed with how well you appeared to adjusting to your new glasses and the various segments in them. It will probably take you several days to maybe a week to get fully adjusted to them. I would assume that you probably got at least a small increase in your distance portion of your glasses but even with an increase seeing things at a distance will be the easiest part for you at first. Just be very careful when going up or down steps until your fully adjusted to them. Many people have taken bad falls as a result of nt being adjusted to their varifocal glasses. In looking back at your previous video you seemed to be wearing glasses part time. You're probably going to be wearing glasses all the time once your eyes get adjusted to them. But glasses are really a very good look on you and you look really nice wearing glasses as well. So if you don't ind my asking how are you doing with adjusting to them? If you have any questions feel free to ask me.
I am absolutely adoring them! I already wear my glasses all the time but having a new pair has been amazing ! The adjustment was quick and it feels so natural! I’ve got to get the legs on the frames adjusted once more because I like a tighter fit, other than that there are few words for how happy I am!
@@nicolehoneywill5529 Thank you for your reply. I was wondering if you were already wearing glasses all the time or just when you felt the need for them. You did say that your previous glasses were for distance and that could have meant that you only needed glasses when driving and looking back at your earlier videos you're wearing glasses in about half of the video caps. If you don't mind my being nosy were your previous glasses your first glasses or have you been wearing glasses for several years already. Maybe a much better way to ask is simply asking you when you got your first glasses? I really love that you're so happy about getting your new glasses. That's always great to hear. Did you have much change, if any in your distance portion of your glasses? Usually sometime in your early to mid twenties your distance vision stops changing and becomes completely stable. But if your previous glasses were your first pair of glasses then a small increase is often necessary in your next glasses as your eyes have become more relaxed by wearing glasses. I'm extremely impressed with how fast your eyes were able to make the adjustment to wearing varifocals so easily. Even for a full time glasses wearer it usually takes a good nit of getting used to only moving your eyes and not your head to read. Now I have a suggestion for you in regards to your previous glasses. Instead of simply throwing them in a drawer someplace never to be wore again you might want to consider having them made into prescription sunglasses for driving if your distance vision hasn't changed too much. The only way to tell is in about 2 weeks after your eyes have completely adjusted fully to your new prescription for distance try testing how well your able to see things at a distance by wearing your previous glasses. If you're able to see perfect or nearly perfect wearing them then you can take them to any optical store and have them put a sunglass tint on them for you. It shouldn't cost more than $15.00 to $20.00 for that. if things are too blurry wearing your previous glasses then they are of no use to you at all and you should put them in a glasses donation box.
@@soundmanpt With regards to my old glasses I already put new lenses in them so they're my new adventure glasses@ Yeah I have to wear my glasses all the time, it's just not safe for me to walk around or go around without them, I can't see well enough at al! I've had glasses for the last 11 years, so this is about my 5th pair of glasses. My eyes have been getting worse for years now! And to answer another one of your questions, it's sooo much easier to see the distance now, I can read billboards and signs now without having to squint!
@@nicolehoneywill5529 Okay, doing that was actually even a better idea than converting them into sunglasses because if you were needing to squint to see things they were already too weak for your eyes and things would have been even more blurry now that your eyes are seeing through the prescription they now need. Since you wear glasses all the time getting your previous glasses updated with your current prescription was a really great idea because you need to have a backup pair just in case something were to happen to your glasses. Being an optician I heard so many ways people either lost or broke their glasses. Some of the more common things were having them fall off into water such as a lake, river, or ocean. I also had younger people loose their glasses on roller coasters. Dogs and cats love to chew on glasses left laying around. Falling asleep with their glasses on also resulted in broken glasses. Once your eyesight gets to the point where you're wearing glasses all the time it's normal for your eyes to become more and more dependent on your glasses to see and function normally. I'm sure you have heard it said that once you start wearing glasses it's like being on a slippery slope because your eyesight just continues to get worse and worse. Normally this occurs in your younger years, from about 7 or 8 to around 22 - 25 when things become more stable with eyesight. Now like many you got prescribed varifocals rather early which seems to be happening more and more in recent years. The main reason is because of so much screen time and constantly reading small print. You would be surprised at how many barely twenty year olds in college are wearing varifocals already. Our store was near 2 universities and we had mostly college students as our customer base. I couldn't believe how many were getting varifocals or what we called them progressives. You didn't say how long you had been wearing your previous glasses but if you were needing to squint to see things at a distance you needed your glasses changed much sooner than you got them changed. Don't be surprised that even before a year is up you maybe needing the reading add made stronger. Usually a first reading prescription is a bit weaker than it should be. Doctors tend to under prescribe reading prescriptions. So if things close up begin to be harder to read with your glasses it will mean your glasses need to changed. If you were to ever want prescription sunglasses remember that they would really only be needed for outdoor things such as driving and not needed for reading or seeing up close so you would only need single vision (distance) sunglasses. If you wanted to you could get a pair on line for as little as $12.00 if you're interested. So if you have anymore questions at all please feel free to ask me. I enjoy answering questions about glasses and vision.
I was like, you have an H&M there? 😱😱 (in the background on the parking lot) but then I remembered seeing one in Capetown as well hahaha. I forgot S-A had those.
It did indeed. You can be sure that is has been DEEP cleaned and looks like a whole new carpet! I try to think of these videos like Rant Time with Jamie. Which is something I am MISSING!
