Nice runs. So how would you compare it to an xmaxx after having both? How close is it in terms of durability? Can it handle super rough terrain and bumps as good as an xmaxx? Between these 2 for first big rc
@@smoothwookienookie5912 it's the only RC on the market that is competition for the xmaxx In my opinion. it's definitely up there as far as durability. I'd go Redcat at 850$

I just put the kraton on 12s hobbywing system 😈 so my opinion may change 😂..Really depends on what I'm doing, if I'm gonna be doing backflips/stunts I'm going outcast. The kraton is more for ground pounding and hitting sum jumps here and there... Having said all of that. I lean towards the outcast!
I would upgrade the transmitter, the inputs seem to be laggy. I havent ran mine as of yet, I'm doing diffs tonite, then I'm upgrading to Radiolink. Good video.
Most of the time 😂. The xmaxx in by far the best basher in my experience. The Redcat vigilante is definitely a contender for a xmaxx killer,It's right there with arrma for sure .
it is the low quality metal in the pinion on the motor vs the hardened steel on the hot racing spur you need the 3mm hot racing hardened pinion and you will be good or just run the stock plastic spurs and pinions you are on loose stuff as well thats not going to eat the spurs at all let alone on asphalt you will be okay
That’s crazy, isn’t that where the massive gear sits, underneath that? Can’t think of what would cause that big gear to pry upwards that hard 🤔 maybe an assembly error at the factory??
Im not a fan of Traxxas' "perfect mesh" system with the pins. I like to manually set my mesh. I had a similar issues with my E-Revo 2.0. Hope you are able to get this sorted.
Absolutely a teeth mesh issue before it even moved it was TOO tight 😮 that’s not a Traxxas problem the pin system as I’m sure you would be aware of requires that the pinion and spur be correct for the pin chosen. I do agree with you it severely limits options at times. But just makes it imperative to match the gear ratio to the pin used. Hope you get her going again soon 👊🏻
Oh she has plenty of back flip in her. All you gotta do is go to a 23t pinion and turn the punch up. I did that except I put 20million in my center and 500k front and 200k rear. I can hit a small little hill and do double back flips easily. I like the truck except the fact that you can’t put batteries in them the correct way and you have to make your own pinion gear cover because I guess redcat had no thought that anyone would want to change that crappy 18T pinion.
That's good to hear! I'm definitely putting a bigger pinion gear and see how I like it. Punch was at full in the vid. It's a good handling truck for sure....... I do have a 5690 hobbywing setting on my bench 👀🤔
You have to do away with one of the motor screws on the top and you’ll still have 2 screws like every other rc car. Just remove that 1 top screw that’s the closet to the edge. You can go up to a 24t pinion but that’s it without modifying stuff. Which hopefully someone comes out with a motor mount soon and gear cover for the vigilante

I found the losi rocky rey for $599 is a unbelievable value , but this max slash is nothing but a after purchase money trap AGAIN ! by refusing to change or improve , pathetic TRAXXAS !, X MAX is a great platform , I got a max slash and just pissed ! So I'll go drive my VEKTA5, Taylor 35 beast n forget about my ignorance of buying the max slash , heavier springs , wide kit , tires and for crap sakes gpm servo brace kit and perfect pass monster servo to replace there $20 servo they give us with a $700 price tag , again pathetic , and there 12 year old radio system ,,,,, again with the pathetic
You need to get a Gopro and a head mount. Video was almost unwatchable with all the shaking and it's a shame because that's a really cool spot for the truck.
I have a redcat xt rampage 5thscale still stock 30 cc motor still runs good today so I'm saying redcat 5th scale is good shit well to me any ways so I'm looking forward getting this beast of a machine
