Thanks. I do a Wu form of 4 movements - open, grasp the bird's tail, single whip, close. It took 2 years to become fluid in it. Every week my form improves. I currently wear a neck brace but the Doctor blessed exercise.
Daniel, thank you for sharing the videos with Ma family taiji. Could you please tell about one technical detail? In Wu family taiji, body is leaned forward so much that baihuei, top of the head moves much more far than the knee and toe (like at the video moment 0:57). It seems to break basic principle, but from the other hand - Wu Jianquan, Ma Jiangbao do this way. Interesting is that in all videos with MaYueliang performance, this details is missing - he leans the body forward like in old Yangshi, but never pass the vertical line with a knee and a toe. I will appreciate if you could comment this difference in performance.
I believe that's for health benefits. Would be counterproductive for martial arts. But from experience, I can tell you it helps with opening the gates in the back.

Is this teacher the youngest son of of the late Ma, he now retired to Sydney Australia, not teaching anymore? Or can I try to find him to teach me? I am in Australia. Or have you just posted something you are not connected to like so many others who don't even now these teachers or where they are, but they put up these videos, don't know why they do it. The man in the video in the youngest son of Ma Yue Liang, and he still lives and teaches in Shanghai. (I learned this form from him.) The oldest, Ma Hai Long, also lives there (last I heard). A middle son, Ma Jiang Bao, lived and taught in Germany, but passed away in 2018.
