Sick man stoked on what you went with and painting and fab is hard as hell! We’re always still learning. Just ride the piss out of it. Looks killer. I engraved my xs and I’ll look up the darkening agent I used to fill in the designs if you want. Subtle but made it pop some in the deeper lines and stippling. Wipe on wipe excess off.
@@OldeThunderCC i got the yomama exhaust, i actually just finished painting the bike and started putting it back together ill make an update video later today
@@bayviewbud1539 nice! Gonna be sweet. I miss my XS chopper all the time! It’s in a friends backyard with a bush growing thru it on the other side of the states.
I love it. Very, very cool bike. Just wish there was a small front brake on it. Hopefully the back brake is good. I've ridden Harley Panhead choppers with springers & no front brakes and they can be dangerous. The springer can start to pogo after big bumps & if you are in a turn you got trouble. Make sure the legs of that springer are bolted tight and check them frequently. Had one of those come loose once but at low speed. If I had been cruising I would have wrecked. I've been down several times after 56 yrs of riding. O\The worst was on a 1970 Shovelhead FLH. Most everyone goes down at some point if you ride long enough. I took a Summer off in 1995 and rode a 1974 Sportster XLCH across the country from New York to Washington State. I stopped frequently and had a ton of adventures and made some good friends as well as getting into a barfight with a couple of Wyoming cowboys. Ended up writing about that Summer. Life is one big adventure. Have fun. I'm still riding at 72 yrs old. You're young. Please stay safe out there. Great bike.
Thank you! One of the spring rods actually sheared off last fall i was able to pull over quick enough, ive since fixed it and and ride it occasionally! I have a harley dyna, and a honda bobber as well so i alternate!
@@bayviewbud1539 Yes, that's scary when that happens. I don't ride choppers any longer. Riding a Royal Enfield 500 thumper presently. Still put a few thousand miles a year on. Back in the old days we were all crazy and partied like hell and rode bikes. Made it through somehow.
The black one is the chinese replacement if im not mistaken, and to my understanding it reheats the solder and reestablishes the connection which has deteriorated
Thanks for posting the clip, it's a lovely looking simple bike. I live in the U.K. about 30 miles from Meriden where the engine would have been built. There is a company called Vertex which make dry sealed motorcycle batteries in black which you bight be able to buy in Canada.
Nice bike glad you posted it. I had a 68 650 Bonneville chopper back in the 80s wish I wouldn't have sold it . I paid 200 bucks for it and sold it in 97 for 3500 .they are definitely awesome to ride. Stay safe and keep riding !!!
Well damn im really digging this scoot!!! When i was a kid you had to have a harley except if you were on a old triumph😂 Nowdays they ride whatever but i take pride in my bikes
A very nice example of the style! I liked the portion of the video featuring the ride. It was quite cinematic and it coincidentally gave a clear view of how much the the front suspension had to work.
I'm digging the mock up of the bike man! I've got a sad '81 driveway ornament myself. Never turned a wrench, am wanting to build something similar. What suggestions would you give to a newbie? I do know how to trace faults through electrical systems, so I'm confident I'll be able to figure it out I've just been a little intimidated by where to start.
Honestly man this is my first ground up build, all i did was watch a lot of other youtubers, read a lot on welding, and just jumped in head first, youll need a good amount of tools grinders, drill press, bench grinder etc. theres hardtail kits available through tcbros that are easy to install, if you have any specific questions hit me up on insta @jessejamestattoo good luck dude!
honestly if you wanted to make it look tasteful and your age you wouldn’t have that I-Vtec sticker on it, DOHC Vtec seems more better, but clean build looks a lot like mine.
I'd love to have the parameters on the pipes and what jets did you use? Just starting my build, and love youre routing on the pipes. How are the jets you used holding up through out all rpm ranges under pull?
I cant eemember the exact jet measurements if you hit up Motor Psychols he could tell you, the bike runs beautifully through all gears and through heavy pulls
I put a couple of rods over to the left side to create a hand shift and foot clutch on the left as well . Made it a lot more fun to ride. Beautiful bike . Makes me miss mine.
