i was just on that lake Saturday. caught more trees than fish. that place can be fun and a nightmare all in the same day. got to watch for those trees just under the water in some places.
Yea I’ve had some good and bad days on this lake for sure! Finally starting to figure it out but still a lot to learn. You ever want to hit it up together, let me know.
Yes sir that’s what I’m talking about way to go Chris! Thank you so much for sharing your tournament day on the water you got the fish you needed a full bag made some culls, but what I love most is even though it was a competition some of you took the time to hang out and talk about the bite. Your day on the water, but it was all uplifting and that’s what fishing is all about! People need to see this side of fishing not the negative stuff it brings life down and should have the opposite effect! This community will either bring an awesome future for our children, or it will bring us the opposite effect on our children! Let’s go tight lines Chris take care and God bless!
Thank you for the kind words! I love just enjoying the moment! Kinda got out of it in the middle of the season but just trying to enjoy myself nowadays
Awesome job Chris you put into a lot of effort and you grinded to the very end and I really enjoy your video content! Thank you for sharing your tournament fishing on the lake the weather was a no issue and you kept finding them where you needed to! Thank you so much tight lines take care and God bless!
Cheri’s thank you for sharing your day it must have been a beautiful day on the lake looked a little hot but you went at it full throttle! Chris my heart fell into my stomach it wrenched in feeling when you lost that big fish sudden silence filled the air! Great anglers will learn to refocus, realigned themselves to get themselves back into the game and it seemed that someone who was blasting their music got you back in track again! Well done sir I know that’s not the way you wanted to fitness your day but you grinded till the end! Tight lines Chris and take care and God bless!
Hey man I really dig your channel and kayak set up. My parents just got a place on watts bar so I’ve been out there fishing. I’m a musician in Nashville and I like to fish. Let’s go fishing sometime
Sticking with it during those tough days shows the heart you have brother! My last tournament I caught 3 fish in the first hour and the bite just shut off!
Hey Chris…I noticed you converted from hand steering to foot steering. But am interested in the hand steering. I have a Newport Vessels 55# transom motor. Do you think the Nucanoe hand steering would work on this? I like the idea of ONE cable to steer. Also, the foot steering says only for the “fancier” motors…is yours still on the Minkota?
The hand steering would work great. But i'll be honest, the foot steering is better. If you're worried about the foot steering having two cables, the NuCanoe foot steering that I have is only one cable, much like the hand steering.
Great video that looked like a fun time in the lake, i felt your pain when you lost that fish looked like a biggin. You took a moment collected your thoughts and went at it again. That’s what makes a great angler never giving up always moving forward and that’s why I’m a subscriber to watch your video content, so thank you for sharing take care and God bless!!!!
My mind is already set to purchase this kayak, I feel that a lot of time paddling and moving myself on it will understand the way the kayak moves under me. I am trying to lose some weight and take swimming lessons so that when I start my journey kayak fishing, I will be ready for anything. Thanks, for sharing you looked so comfortable and so relaxed on it. Take care and God bless.
Absolutely great video Chris when you had your frustrations of not having your pliers at the start up could of set this video on a spiral downward of your mentality. You got through adversity with the help of some great bass competitors lending their own pliers great showmanship. To finish how you did just reminds me why I subscribed to your channel you keep going never give up giving thanks to God. I love your kayak, you just look so perfect in that setup great way to finish.
Thanks man I really appreciate it. I used to let the small stuff get inside my head but the past few years I’ve tried my best to just keep a positive attitude and enjoy fishing (and life). Things are gonna happen, just you just gotta keep your head up!
I live in Colorado where are you from brother and do you have any tournaments yet. I’m still getting my feet wet with all this I’ve always fished for trout up in Colorado mountains, but I’ve been so inspired to try something like this looks absolutely amazing. Thanks for this video I needed to get a second opinion on a big guy like me in one of those things. You gave me some reassurance about it thank you and take care!
Definitely not fond of it. Also not fond of putting a bad tourney out there, but we all have em. It’s a good way to learn from your mistakes. I’ll have a comeback tour for this lake, that’s for sure! lol
@@chrishoganfishing oh yea brother! I skunked in a tourney last year and my goal is not to do that this year! Nervous about the KAS as I know I won’t be able to pre fish so hoping to get into something there!
Do you stay in your seat when messing with your crates? I know this sounds weird but im about your size and stand 6'8" and i feel sketchy as heck trying to get into my crates lol. Ive been scouring RU-vid trying to see someone our size messing with their crates while on the water.
I put my knees in my seat sometimes and mess around in the crate. I’ve also stood on my seat with no issue. Get used to your kayak and get to know the tipping point….no now lol it’s too cold. But once you figure that out l. You’ll know your limits.
