Been interesting watching you working on this, looks like it’s going great, you’re about 20 mins from me, I’ve a tow rope but I’m not sure my mk1 will pull it if it lets you down 😂
Hi chris, love the videos mate, been watching for a while and you’ve convinced me to get a mk2 TT. Which engine/year would you say to avoid? As I know the CESA engine is chain driven and can be problematic? Would you say to get the older engine which is belt driven? Cheers anthony
@@anthonym135i3 thanks mate I prefer the older belt engine ones ea113 engine ,the tts is the sweet spot and comes with a better spec. This one might be going up for sale in September 👍🏻
So would you say to go for like 10 plate audi TT then? Means I can get something with lower miles and make sure it has the ea113 engine. Im going to modify it so would like to get close to the 300bhp mark like yours
As long as you put it at tdc and mark the belt then transfer the marks over to the new belt and line it all up and you have the right tension then turn it over a couple of times by hand and it still lines up your good to go
Seeing you so active on the FB groups and forum is really refreshing. Used your cam followed guide and video to sort mine out and was a breeze, youre an asset to the community! Keep up the good work mate!
@@CarChris82 Ha, it's good that everything went ok. Never used to think of things going wrong when I was younger but these days I worry about every bolt snapping lol. The joys of getting older.😀
I did mine yesterday and despite it not being badly worn it does have a strange wear pattern. And a small amount of pitting. Im wondering if previously the cam follower has worn badly and been replaced which has left mine with strange wear marks ?
@@CarChris82 ok i have catless miltec exhaust an uprated intercooler a induction kit and im thinking off doing this be for i map it work you recomend these 3 upgrades ?
Laser do a kit that makes changing the subframe bushes easy, (without getting them stuck or breaking them like you did) if you want to shell out about £350 😞
I do have a couple of bush fitting and removal kits but access to these was a pain, would have been really easy with subframe removed.£350 no thanks lol
hey, thank's for the video, I bought your fix kit and done the same thing, the rear break light and light indicator are working well, but not the reverse light bulb. I switched the revserse and indicator bulb and the reverse still doesn't work. Any ideas ?
Really a nice car! I drive a mark II turbo for 5 years in the 90's. Good memories. Wish I still had one. My mk II was killed by rust. When the car was 5 years it was already rusting. It was a 1991 model year.
@@CarChris82 saw the kit on eBay. Very well put together and well priced. Went to the local hardware store and got the parts myself and ending up spending more than the cost of the kit so I highly recommend that for others who want to do this. Hardest part of the instal was running the wire down on the side with the battery, took me a while to contort my hand into a position where I could grab the wire. Besides that, a very very easy install. Thanks again.
Nar there too weak had 3 mk2 TT's and they where all snapped, if someone is new to these cars and you don't warn them they will most definitely snap it on there 1st pull
I don't wanna end up like these guys with blown motor.... I just wanna know what the fuck to do already... all the hoses for the fucking pcv system put together on ecs tuning and even on rock auto go past 250+ $ and Im not cheap when it comes to the car but at the same time I just don't want the godamn PCV system at this point I'm might just do an EGR delete so I can completely remove the pcv system lol can someone figure this out already? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zb84w0k_a_k.html
Enjoying these videos Chris, after all the work you've done I'd keep it for the summer and hope we have some nice weather to enjoy some top down motoring then decide if you want to sell it or keep it and modify.
