I never knew this happened. I was 12 years old when this happened, and watching this for the first time just pissed off my inner child 😂 Marc was my guy as a child. I thought he had the best job ever growing up

Burt was playing that role, he did that in the movies, the boring bad guy, all acting, he did it so well that Marc was confused and worried, but Burt wasn't taking him seriously.
No one was playing here. this was a real -on air fight between two unhappy individuals, who then tried to dial it back a bit. But let's face it.....they didn't fool anybody. No class....
Yes, I’ve watched this a few times and it’s Burt who makes the first smartass remark, but it goes next level when Marc makes the crack about “I’m still married, by the way,” in an obvious dig at Reynolds’ recent marital woes with Loni Anderson.
I remember watching that the first time and Burt never breaking charactor. Felt sorry for Mark but in the end the spirit of the fun was truly recognized.
Jay was thrilled. It was his best and most memorable show ever. Both Burt & Marc were truly entertaining. It was a low moment but really a high moment at the same time for all three of them.
Burt Reynolds’ massive ego needed to be deflated a bit here. He was a jerk to him for no reason, but Summers certainly came at him with a howitzer with that “I’m still married” remark!
It would have been funnier if Marc Summers and Burt Reynolds had snuck up and hit Jay with both pies instead. Jay was acting like a pussy running away from the pies at the end.
i'm glad they were able to break some of the tension with their mutual hatred of jay leno. truly something that unites americans from sea to shining sea
