BEATING THE CON CRUNCH HELL YEAH!!!! the editing on this video is so great!!! for cutting foam I recommend using a hot wire foam cutter! its about 20 bucks on awesome but it is sooooo worth it!!!!!! especially if you want to do more foam work!!! the scythe looks awesome!!!!
I just want to say you are an incredible artist and to be entirely honest I feel like an idiot for not coming up with these kind of ideas myself. You have definitely gained my subscription. Tho I do have an idea I actually bought a keystone on Amazon and turned it into a little badge you can try that
I love how the how dance costume and the mermaid tail looked together!!! the layering was so cool!! also so iconic of Mr. and Mrs. Burns having nautical stash of craft supplies in the attic!!!!
Your crafting videos are always so inspiring! Love watching you build stuff from scratch and modify existing items. Also, incredible jumpscare at 13:19. Dunno why that buzzer sound got me so good, but I nearly leapt out of my skin. And what a fun opportunity, my wife and I have been to Ren Faires many times, and the performers and character actors are our favorite part.
You look badass! I just finished making that cosplay too, and wore it for Comic Con Paris this weekend! It was a lot of fun, I'm quite proud of myself. Next step, making Scaldsaber out of foam!
Love the recap! It was super cool to see your Yasha cosplay. (I was the FCG with the buzzsaw at the CritRole meetup) I’m glad you had a great Zenkaikon! 🧡
There's three things I've learned working with cardboard. First! Make a bunch of layers and carve and cut it down. A broom handle with like, five to ten layers of cardboard glued and clamped to either side makes a decent weapon base, and then you can carve and shape it down from there. Second! Prime it! Cardboard drinks paint. My wife and I made a cardboard pirate ship for my niece once for a Ren Faire and it took sooooo many layers of paint to get it to look uniformish, and the wavy cardboard look never went away. Next project I primed it first and it took only two layers of primer and two of paint for it to look passable. Third! Don't! The above steps are a crazy amount of work to make something that just won't look as good or be as durable as it would if made with like, EVA or craft foam. I've tried so many ways to reuse all the cardboard that comes in with the stuff I order online and there's just nothing that it's really good for, and everything it CAN do, something else can do better. Cosplay turned out great though! And I love the little wings.
oh my god thank you for the advice! i will admit ive been too reliant on cardboard for crafts in the past and every tip and trick ive used has backfired in one way or another--maybe this is a sign to invest in more foam LOL
@@whoismegburns I wanted cardboard to work for crafts so bad! I had an embarrassing amount of boxes broken down and saved up for various crafts, but it just does not work unless you put in SO much more time and effort than you would have to for a different material. Good luck on your future projects!

THIS IS SO COOL!!! :D I think if you decorated it a bit more, maybe some beads (if you have any) or something of the sort it could’ve had more interest? But that might just be my maximalism thought process showing up. Either way I like it a lot!
