notice that the audience does not start clapping until the master passes the ring and negates the obvious explanation in the minds of the audience.... this is a great insight into how one should routine effects.
RE: Nevertheless both effects are dynamite and I can't think of a card man living that could present either with as much flair as Harry Lorayne ADD - And of course (seriously).............England's PAUL GORDON! For 'Killer' material such as this that slay audiences, check out Paul's website - unreservedly recommended!
Oh wow ... that was a sweet treat indeed! I've always admired Harry Lorayne, and this is just another prime example as to why. 5 stars doesn't do it justice!
I don't think it's actually a 'dead cut' (assuming your interpretation is an estimated cut) - check out the effect; it's called Numero Uno from Harry's 1980 lecture notes and also Personal Collection (2001). Nevertheless both effects are dynamite and I can't think of a card man living that could present either with as much flair as Harry Lorayne. The guy is a LEGEND.
Truly an ARTIST of magic. He was a HUGE inspiration to many magicians including Copperfield and the late Doug Henning. My friend worked with him and learned quite a bit from him. To this day he still says that RICHIARDI was the GREATEST MAGICIAN OF ALL TIME. (And I believe him.) Richiardi's final shows were in Merv Griffins' "Paradise Island" Resort in the Bahamas. When he died, so did a big part of magic history. Today's "tricksters" couldn't hold a candle to him as a true performer!
New age magicians stood on the shoulders of giants to get where they are. They never give the real masters any credit. Fred Kaps is a genius, he even inspired Michael Ammar! Turning magic in to a puzzle thats meant to be solved is not the point, and I wish they would get that!
I love Ricky Jay. What a Hippie back then, huh? He sounds so different. Anyone know when was this filmed? He is so theater and drama! Not just a magician, but a true showman. Hey, Conmagic, thanks for posting this.
Some people have to juggle 4 balls. The 4th ball being disabiity. If you're juggling 3 balls, be thankful when yoy tell yourself life sucks!..... (This is not a pisstake...) Penn and Teller are the best!
Fred Kaps was the greatest magician that ever lived. NOBODY has even come close. Plus, he looked and acted like a MAN..instead of some sissy britches. He made it a real art instead of crock of juvenile magic club bullshit.
... ditto tokenmale... in an age of David Blaine edits and Criss Angel doubles, it's refreshing to watch a true professional who has the guts to perform 10 minutes in a snug-fitting tux without a camera cut... the jumbo coin production is so slick, and I'm guessing he took his lit candle productions to his grave, I've watched this clip 10x and even though I know how it's done I'm still amazed at how he pulls it off...
