It’s 2024 and this older video came up in my feed today. My grandmother could stand on her hair. I remember watching her take out the braids and comb soap and water through it to clean the hair. She would then braid it and wrap it around her head and put one bobby-pin in to hold the end. She would tell me that she was growing it long to use when she washes the feet of Jesus and dries them with her hair. As far as I know, she never cut it. I usually keep my hair shoulder length, but I may see if I can tolerate it longer. ❤
Do you have cultural traditions that you find sacred and import to you? Its better I ask then assume. But I find typically folks that either had no care for their culture or heritage or live in a place were its not mocked or miss represented, tend to feel others can get over it. There is nothing wrong with this, but if you grow up having your people, your ancestry, your family mocked, it tends to get to folks. Some more then others granted, but all the same.
People dress up as Native Americans, Vikings, Samurai not because they are mocking these cultures , but out of admiration. If someone however were dressed up as a plantation slave or a holocaust Jew, it would be totally inappropriate and offensive because it would be linked to such tragic events.
Yeah I think (but may be misremembering) that I came across something very similar in Silver Ravenwolf's big red book. I would certainly do this spell, it seems intuitive and I presume very effective. Ive always been drawn to mirrors as portals so I like the idea of the negativity being chanelled elsewhere by the black and white candles working in unison. Love this video format too, more please!
I think I read somewhere Ravenwolf had a similiar spell in one of her books. I wonder who wrote it first or if they both got it from another source 🤣 and thank you for the feedback will keep that in mind.
Question.... If a person simply thinks or speaks of something they want to happen without using any items or ritual, is that a spell? If a person sets their intention. Then simply thinks a bit about the outcome they want and then just verbalizes it to themselves. I often have what some may call premonitions. If it is something I fear, I may seek refuge from it through prayer. I don't consider this a spell. But, sometimes I see something or have emotions that come up, and I may stop and sit down, take a few breaths, focus my thoughts, and just speak the outcome I want for myself or others.

A spell is typically speaking words with intent. This has brought up many thoughts for me, so thanks as ever for being so thought provoking 😉 First of all, on the spiritual v religious point, a religious studies academic who I follow on RU-vid called Angela Puca (highly recommended btw) has thoughts on this. She suggests that as a scholar she wants more pagans and esotericists to claim the word religion as their own. She sees 'religion' as politically defined - and hopes that neo pagans will begin to own their practice as religious. I for one often describe myself as 'religious' before people learn I'm pagan, which makes for some interesting conversations. Here in the U .K, people almost always presume I mean christian. You also brought up a lot for me regarding perennialism and the new age. I do own the fact that I don't see the essence of all religions to be the same, so wouldn't consider myself a perennialist. One thing I do struggle with is how a section of the pagan community seem to be in love with the idea of older = more authentic or older = better. As someone who considers myself a pagan whose teaching myself druidry, I own the fact that 80-90% of what I do and learn is modern and inspired by other paths. I get really troubled when I see fellow pagans regurgitating disproven theories or ideas, rather than owning the fact we are a largely modern, evolving, developing paths.

though like everyone else, you have the freedom to believe in any mythology you wish. viewing all other believes in one lump sum based upon your own mythology is pretty narrow minded. paganism and fantasy has nothing to do with fallen angels.
I can be a bit of a 'fluffy' love and light kind of guy when im in the right mood - but I think that's just the sort of guy I am online often. What does make me cringe, however, is when fellow pagans flaunt disproven information as if it is fact. E.g the wiccan triple goddess being historical or ancient. Or this whole vibe of needing to claim an ancient lineage for often a set of relatively modern practises. Or when peeps rely solely on crystals or reiki etc to treat very physical health conditions. Anyhow...its a constant battle for me to bite my tongue haha.
same, I'm not free from cringe worthy choices or expression either, but I am referring to the far out there and as is a pet peeve of mine is miss information...drives me nuts.
This makes me consider the old adage 'as above, so below'. I think a way of conceptualising the spiritual reality of the universe is to think about reality being divided into elemental, astral, and mundane planes of existence. The energies we refer to as the gods l, present on higher/ different planes are moulded like semi flexible clay into forms we can understand and build relationship with. For me, this explains why different deities are formed and half invented by humans, but why general archetypes remain relatively constant. I yo yo between being a hard and soft polytheist and animist, often depending on my thoughts and relationship with the divine at that given time.
Right, the constant question of is my current perception an accurate reflection of what is. Constantly motion in your path, that is at least what I have been going through. and Ah yes the as above so below from the paraphrase from the emerald tablet. One of the main reasons I like this channel is this topic of sources and accuracy. Like you, back in the day for me there was Llewellyn etc and maybe some 20th century tomes from Robert Graves, James Frazer., etc. This too, while showing sources, could be generous with conclusions mixed in with modern concepts of old cultures. Interesting though maybe not entirely accurate... The ability to find really old sources as well as modern sources is key to finding a more accurate idea of what a pagan belief system might entail. And bringing in different specialties such as anthropology, history, old grimoires, even daily home maintenance, farm production, plant cultivation, etc etc. There are so many angles to approach to gain a clearer understanding. Much appreciation for continuing in this topic of sources--there are so many people claiming to know how to "druid" or "witch" but it's more of a Choose Your Own Adventure style of practice...which is fine as long as it is understood there is no standard practice for most of the pagan spiritualities out there (except perhaps very local/regional family or village practices). I enjoy the vlog style as well as livestreams esp using the source search tools during the stream so people get a sense of how to research this type of thing.

I remember being in a coven and we were not suppose to say anything and my thoughts were ummm no trying to get paganism out not swept under the carpet. So needless to say did not stay. And I was questioning and answered were always because that's the way and I was show me. So I love that you go source. That's why I have followed you for a few years now.
Much appreciated for the years of support Laura. To a degree I can understand having some closed door practices if those are developed by and for that specific group. However, as I'm sure you've noticed, often times these groups are taking information from others and then trying to gate keep it. They pick up a book or learn from one person and then lock it down. Even though many of them, have had the struggles and frustrating of trying to find sources.
Using white sage is not the issue. It is perfectly fine to use white sage. It is how the sage is sourced which is the issue. So I would say do not use white sage if you do not know how it has been sourced. The providers of white sage should provide information on how it has been sourced so that their customers can make an informed decision.

I thought the same thing, with the reference to Greek and Roman polytheism. And definitely agree with leave kids alone, no touchy. My personal reason of being fed up with the whole ceremony was the fact it has nothing to do with what the Olympics is supposed to represent and was annoyed that non-Athletes were being allowed to mess with the torch who are not athletes. The Olympics has already been 'Inclusive" for decades. The excess and nonsense all around is just that. I also agree mocking anyone' chosen tradition, path, way or religion, whatever is inhumane. I think there's an effect of a similar looking crown in the Last supper. If you draw the lines from the semicircle above Jesus to 7 wooden beams of the cealing it creates a visual effect of a crown. It can't be seen but your mind still creates it (I'm sure Leonardo knew and intended this, otherwise, why a semicircle?). The chick had a similar crown with 7 beams. Also it does look like a halo. In the Apollo painting, it's a glow, the sign of glory, not a halo. In Orthodoxy the cross in the halo belongs to Jesus only. The chick had vertical and horizontal lines in the crown. It's a blashemy on so many levels. If they knew what they were doing, it's a full mode demonic activity. halos have not exclusive to christian art and if you believe that I would highly recommend looking at more art. I gave a single example that is very similiar, and the halo is not something "your mind creates" but actually in the painting. glow, halo, aura, all the same when represented in a painting. Its a head piece in the opening stuff for the olympics. I don't know enough about Orthodoxy to dispute or debate if it belongs to Jesus only, but there is enough art showing a glow around multiple peoples heads that the point is irrelevant. There is even art which as nothing to do with christianity in India and Asian with circles around heads. "creative coincidence"? no, but folks with limited scope trying to make it about them? yes... I have seen this and I thought it was disgusting. The creator mixed the Last Supper, which, was The Passover Seder. So in a effect it not only hits Christians but Jewish people, the dionous figure, it a hit towards hellenstic pagans so it's religious mockery. Yes dionysius is a god of wine and celebration but the Ancient Greeks had a different society and religious expression then Jewish or Christianity.

I honestly don't have the medical knowledge to know what sort of impact breathing techniques would have on something like asthma. I would check with your health care provider first and ask them about deep breathing exercises. Then if you have an inhaler and keep it handy. Then listen to your body, if you are struggling or having difficulty stop.

@@billylion3073 I have only had exposure to a very small amount of the many many faiths, religions and spiritualities out there. However I have come to the conclusion that many are trying to accomplish the same thing. If you've not seen it, check out my mountain theory video.
I like history. If you study it enough, I find that you discover we are all connected in so many ways regardless of our religious beliefs or practices. I have no issue with newer religious practices or beliefs. I take issue when any religion tries to snuff out or write over history. It's important, to me anyway, that we acknowledge the history and realize that no matter how we worship or practice spirituality today, it isn't new. It is built or based on existing and probably extinct religions and cultures. We should honor them and remember them. New gods. New religions. New saints. New prayers. New hymns. New rituals. Just don't forget the old ones are just as powerful.

Blaze, I don't know say. As for me, and this is just me saying. In the early 2000's when facebook and social media first started. I was sooo! Happy to touch base with sooo many good old friends online. People I paled around with. Sadly, all those hopes and popularity dreams came to an end with no notifications. When we talked as friends from back in the day, online the reply was this👍yep! Thumbs up. Nobody reciprocated, nobody corresponded, nobody communicated. As for smart remarks online personally as for me? I wouldn't get involved, their mind is set. That's a ballpark personally, I wouldn't step into. For me, my opinion that's just asking for trouble. That is a bad pot to draw from. As for debating online? Again, not a good place. I'm lucky to find people I do get along with lol'! Personally I keep it simple not looking for trouble.
