3:49:03, I’m guessing Al’s “Forget it” commemt was about the camera timer they couldnt find to take the ultimate “gotcha” picture of the two of them in front of Suveyor. If only they could have found it…..

NASA had plenty of warning and there was a specific thing they could have done. Redesign the I-rings and SRB joints. Wait for warmer weather. Address impact of schedule on safety.

These NASA officials act like they're irritated to have to do a press conference as if they're doing us the public a favor. Post Columbia disaster the flight director was more considerate.

I can’t watch this and NOT hear Countdown by Rush in my head. I was 10 years old and remember watching this in Ms Bromowski’s classroom.

So cool! I remember these, I was 9 years old. I thought Apollo was just the beginning.

55:57 😯 *Hyd Launch Controller* got a bit testy on the _Launch Director Loop_ during the vehicle safing process. Eventually, the PAO starts bloviating 56:54 in an attempt to distract from the frosty back-and-forth between controllers. It was obviously a frustrating situation

At an hour and 45 the computer did not malfunction, the angle value wasn't defined and caused a comp overflow.

I wish i could have been involved in. Any part of these missions into orbit, to the moon and voyager 1 and 2, it drives me nuts when people say that none of it ever happened!

The discussions of using the LM as a lifeboat actually occurred in a meeting in 1965.....

I totally live with Tom Stanford’s grandson a long time ago. One of the first things I said to him was, “did you know that there is an astronaut with your name?” To which he replied, “ yeah, he’s my grandfather.”

1:01:50 is the moment the shuttle started to break up, and when they took over manual control and were essentially test pilots until the enevitable break up and death of the crew of Columbia.

Hey do you know if there is a Project that tries to recreate a 3D environment from videos and pictures of the moon for some areas of Apollo missions? If we have enough Information this could work for almost all missions. And for other missions where there are enough photos and videos of the same place, normal Gaussian splatting algorithms also could do the job.

I’ve just shown my kids this moment and what an absolute feat we had accomplished, just makes you emotional about it . We should look back and learn about it .
