If you were to measure out a small amount of the product, you could just mix that with the proportional amount of water in a separate container & reseal the pouch to use the rest at a later date. However, the bag is portioned to be the ideal amount for most small patch jobs around the house. So typically you'd just add the recommended amount of water to the bag, knead it together, and use it all in one go. For _really_ small jobs, they also have various squeeze tubes of mortar, concrete, and asphalt repair that are about the size of a large tube of toothpaste.
After a hot summer a 1/2” black ugly film appears along the edges. It’s next to impossible to clean or remove. If you care about the look of your driveway don’t use this product.
I've been caulking for over 20 years...YOU NEVER USE SAND as a filler...I don't care what the experts say..you can put sand down underneath the backer rod,,,but NEVER PUT the caulk on top of the sand. CAULK, needs 3 points of contact to adhere..SAND WILL wash away leaving pockets for the caulk to sag leaving the structural integrity to fail in a much smaller amount of time. I make a living fixing cement issues and Caulk issues.
Thank you for advice. I need to do this soon. Any additional comments? Is this the best product to use? Also I've seen where people add garage floor dirt to the sealer to make it look more natural... do you recommend that ? I could send you the link to this guy that did that.
I say thank you also, my issue, first timer, just making a boarder, I mixed sand and concrete and used a mixer, looked great, was happy, then a month passed, I was busy and did no sealing, came back and there’s deep cracks to light cracks everywhere😰, why, why, why, and what can I do and with what. we always had this stuff around the when I was younger. But today I actually needed to clean my engine and engine bay. Well I used Lucas oil parts cleaner it’s good but....wow I then went to the local grocery and picked a large bottle of simple green and 1 liter spray bottle to dilute, I’m really impressed within the results.
I never thought about using sand as filler material. I always had a hard time with backer rod when the gaps are really wide. Good idea. I will have to try it.
Does not work with amazon alexa in Canada! Don't know why the skill is NOT discoverable on my MacBook Pro Alexa app. Feels like I wasted 60+ dollars on this Decor dimmer switch. Although it does work from My Leviton app on my phone, I was hoping to be able to use it using my Echo Dot but it does not.
