Welcome to my channel. In addition to some personal videos, I post a lot of old videos. Some rare pieces I come across that I either don't see on RU-vid, or are on RU-vid in poorer quality. I love old 70s & 80s pop culture and want to share, memorialize and preserve these for those that remember, and for those who may not but might be curious as to how things were back then.
Not sure. I forgot about that tiny little bit. I never even added him to my "Unknown Actors" video of people I couldn't identify. It does look a lot like him though.
She wasn’t bad, but I don’t think Harrison Ford was too impressed. Terri Nunn wasn’t right for the part, Carrie Fisher just had that imperious voice and manner that made you believe she was a princess and tough as nails.

Nope, but! We still knew all their hits from Invisible Touch, which was just a couple years before Pocket Rockers came out. Those hits got heavy radio and MTV airtime to have them ingrained into our brains. I will say though, starting your commercial off with Genesis and Phil Collins showed how hard it must've been to get actual popular kids music licensed for this. lol
I don't know if she or George Lucas ever considered it, but if I were asked to suggest casting for Princess Leia back then,I would have suggested Linda Blair.
I’m with Simon. I grew up loving sci-fi and monster movies as a kid. But I was a kid. When “Star Wars” came out I think I was 22. A friend of mine wanted to see it a second time and insisted that I check it out. He also insisted on smoking a joint. It didn’t help. I was impressed with the visuals but bored by the silly, pretentious story line about good and evil and “the force.” I agree with Simon’s point about dumbing down children. Unfortunately just about everything since then has done a great job of dumbing down adults. Four years after seeing “Star Wars” in Manhattan I went to see “Alien” and had a great time. It was scary and smart and definitely not for little kids. But you can stow all the Star Wars and Star Trek flicks. They’re not my cup of tea. And for what it’s worth, I later became a big fan of Siskel and Ebert and would tape their show every week. I also have revisited many of them on RU-vid.
Yeah Alien and the Thing are way better also Race to Witch Mountain 2009 starring the Rock is also leaps and bounds better than Star Wars and Trek also the motherfuckers who made Star Wars didn’t even know about black holes worm holes or time dilation or that we have 2 trillion galaxies in the known universe etc blah blah blah yada yada you get it
What is interesting is comparing this excerpt offering to tv execs to the first episode of the Batman 60s series. Even though the latter had a playful, camp, cartoon feel, the actors took it seriously. This Wonder Woman is portrayed as a daffy, silly female. What were they thinking of? If they had presented her in the same way as Batman and Robin, the network might have gone for it. Perhaps that was too much of a stretch for the male execs in the boardroom to have a strong woman? I’m assuming this clip was pitched after season 1 of Batman was underway and successful? At least they wised-up and we got Batgirl.

Ok bro. You need to redo this entire video with a better quality camera and in landscape mode instead of portrait. You have way too much of probably the best collection of stuff from our childhood I have ever seen and deserves way more respect in documenting. This could be on one of those collector television shows.
LOL I appreciate the positive comments on the collection. Problem with landscape is that the collection his floor-to-(almost) ceiling. There's also not a lot of space, so there would be a lot of panning (annoying) or editing (don't want to do). I'm also not investing more than the camera on my phone just for a personal video to share. This is hopefully not it's final destination, so when I set it up in a new place in 1-2 years, we'll see if I can do better. lol
