So, which one is your favorite- Wirehaired or Shorthairs........or maybe yours were Drahthaar or Kurzhaars? I wished these side by side had ejectors instead of extractors. Put some more thought into it before I buy one- maybe go Charles Daly. Thanks for the review.
Love the cerakote acrius. I have one that has been my back country gun for 2 seasons now. Getting ready to put in 40 miles with it next weekend for the 2024 Utah Upland opener.
My kids first handled and fired guns (.22 rifles) when they were 4-5 years while setting on my lap so I could help them hold the gun. My kids were in hunting camp at about the same age. By 7 they were in the field with me shooting rabbits with .22s while I hunted birds. They were first able to hunt birds at 12. Their first shot gun was a youth model 870.
A strategy that I try to use when blocking is to remove any/all blaze orange clothing that I have on. I try to place these items at least 50 yards away, and ideally on a fence post or fence line making it appear a hunter is there. I tell the walkers where I’ll be hiding to block. It gets exciting when you hear the birds running towards you.
Great podcast! And fantastic advise. I'll be listening to this one again several times. Thanks so much for offering all of this information on your podcasts.
This was yet another terrific podcast! I feel I've learned most everything I need to know about quail and scent in this one setting. At least more than I used to know. Thanks for this.
My dog got either "kennel cough" or " tonsillitis" here in southern Idaho at the start of this season. He recovered with no problems but I was so confused by the way the vet handled us. They seemed so sketched out but never fully explained it. I definitely get it now.
Hunted many many miles in Danner pronghorns. Bought the "new model" last year. I'm shopping for a new boot. Danner is done. Is Meindl still made like Crispi/Kennetrec? I never bought any because they're like ice skates, in that the soles of the boots are way narrower than the rest of the boot. Never understood that eurotrash design. Hopefully they don't still make them like that.
@@ScottLindenOutdoors Yeah, just checked. Looks like that feature is model dependant. Some are made that way, some aren't. What model is your favorite?
I have learned a lot from Scott's videos, articles and podcasts. I'm currently training my 6-month-old GSP and the knowledge he puts out there is very appreciated and most importantly, helpful and often entertaining!
Al Gadoury is the man! The episodes with him are my favorite, and I watch them often. Prairie puzzles, Fire and feathers, episode #40, and episode #29! Even had the opportunity to chat with him via email about vintage shotguns and still regularly check the listings of his recommended gun shop, Hill Rod and Gun! The guy is all-time and a wealth of knowledge! Thank you Scott for introducing your viewers to him! Always wondered when he would make it to a podcast! So excited to listen to this one, but pheasants? Let the man opine on the prairie birds!
Appreciate the video. Don’t know a lot about pointer shotguns. I have a buddy looking for a decent sxs in 20 gauge. Any opinion on pointer shotguns for this? It will likely be his daughters firearm so carry weight, LOP, and handling are of some importance. Additionally he’s not interested in a high end firearm, just one well built and reasonably priced. Thoughts.
Nice information. I have called two years ago and Matt answered phone. I finally got to meet him at Pheasant Fest. Wonderful young man with awesome products that work!. Scott you did nice job on article in Pointing Dog Journal. I have been watching your shows, podcast, etc. for years. Also Gun Dog article was top shelf!
You can get the CZ at Sportman's Warehouse for 650, called the Woodcock. Case colored, 20 gauge, Sportsman's warehouse exclusive. I got one with some winner wood last fall.👍
