The Acoustic Guitar Club was created as an online community for acoustic guitarists to musical journey like practicing, gigs and our successes and failures. Learning to play alone can be isolating - but not any longer!

There's also lots of news, interviews, courses, groups, reviews, forum and general guitar shenanigans!

There's no age limit, if you can play anything on the acoustic guitar or are just starting out, you can find practice buddies that you can talk about your practicing! You can also get expert help along the way.

You'll want to get involved with this one from the ground up! :)

Thank you for the review. The Heavy is a great thumb pick. The Medium is too, and some folks will find it good for strumming. It is versatile. The Light is a good strummer but, of course, has a thinner sound. I use it on the 12-string. For anyone who finds that a thumb pick does not stay put, I strongly recommend a small strip of Nexcare Absolute waterproof foam tape. A roll should last for years. I use it with my Bumblebee Jazz picks and it completely removes the problem. These picks are no good for strumming but they have an adjustable angle that I fix in place with a drop of glue.

I think this review is unfair because it doesn't mention that Black Mountain picks have two different spring tensions available. If a player wants a really tight-fitting pick, they can get extra tight springs. It also doesn't take into account that the spring makes the picks very durable. The spring absorbs the shock of playing which makes the picks last longer than traditional thumb picks which tend to break from being flexed repeatedly after use. Furthermore, the picks have different tones depending on which model and this is a matter of personal preference. I think that the review should take these factors into account and it would be more well-rounded. Professionals around the world are using Black Mountain picks on the stage every day and they are trusted tools and are very durable and long-lasting. Thank you. Cole McBride.

I also want to add that the picks are made in North America.

Hi Cole. Thank you for getting in touch regarding your thump picks and telling me about the different spring tensions available. I appreciate the additional information. As a player who logged on to your site and bought the variety pack, which is labelled as ideal for beginners, it doesn't give an options of any different spring tensions on purchase, but when I dig a little deeper into your site, I can see that you offer that. Apologies I didn't see this, but perhaps it shows that the product you encourage as a starter pack should come with, or at least have the option for the different spring. I will happily update my review with the new information. And thank you for your additional opinions, I hear many people use them, as I said in the review, it is my opinion and also that I think your product is great, but it's just not for me. I have used the same thumb picks for years and they have not broken. I wish you all the best success for the picks, it's a great idea. Thank you Cole!
