GW is a joke. Everything they are doing is to make it all easier for them. Simpler molding, easier balancing. They know they will make money on people anyway. This release was truly the "Make it a Blud Lite" release. I don't like the way they are moving forward.
As someone who got into 40k tail end of 7th and is by no means old guard of the hobby, I f**king hate primaris. Their lore is bad, and even manages to hurt other factions. Their models are bland at best and lack customization. They're not even technically true scale since their proportions are still off and cant fit in their own tanks. Honestly there's so much wrong with them, and really modern 40k as a whole. Which is why I'm shifting to 30k and other game systems. I basically ignore all modern lore.
Its sad, the Primaris are a wound 40k didn't need at all. There are ways they could have moved things without lighting the setting on fire. And I believe if they held true to its core it would bridge the gap of generations and attract new players such as yourself. @mrnobodypresents1349 it's not even just the primaris, it's the state of modern warhammer as a whole. From the game being very dumbed down and AoSified with 8th onwards, yet still being a bloated mess. With many of the new models being a let down or outright bad (not even just space marines, Orks are being made monopose with little kitbashing potential in new kits). To the Lore being in a sorry state where simultaneously everything is over explained, yet also under explained at the same time. The Marvelization as it were of the setting with things like the returning primarchs. Who I only think the traitors should return, and in very limited capacity, because then it cheapens the rest of the characters and you know the loyalist primarchs are never going to be in any real danger. The worst part is I could keep going. And honestly I'm planning to make some videos myself soon talking about all this.

...Oh look, the 'big reveal' is just as cynical and underwhelming as anyone might have expected. Now they can go back to doing next to nothing apart from churning out the same mass-produced, repetitive models and raising their prices.
I was just making a similar criticism about the new Terminators. Instead of a whole new sculpt, the Death Wing squad just get an upgrade sprue. It's uninspiring.
Primaris was the really naff pg13 shift to true scale and the first step away from the old lore. like you said add this alongside the new tourney meta push and its endless nerfing or removal of kits just to sell the months hot release. warhammer has become p2w (just follow the releases along side codexes etc) also simplification means less molds which keeps production costs down. hence we haave ultrasmurfs painted red = blood angels etc. personally its why i made the jump properly to 30k.
Indeed. Its also a reason I think they'd avoid the Scouring as a setting for the game. Since it'd likely become the default for 40k players who don't dig the new stuff.
when primaries where brand new i felt like they was an unnecessary upgrade but i didn't think id see the day when assault marines where no longer sold on the webstore i also just play old editions now and have no interest in modern 40k mainly because 40k dosent feel right to me withought templates and armor values and now blood angels have lost half of the classic kits they used to have...
Situation was like that as well. I mostly play the older stuff and sometimes One Page Rules. One thing I was thinking, was a video talking about how I feel the loss of the 40k style was planned. Since they lost the Chapter House lawsuit effectively and planned to bring 30k in house. However thats just a theory of mine based on a couple noteable GW habits.
Yup, all they had to do was make true scale.marines. I like the newish chaos marines because that's what they are. No need to change any lore, they simply made better models!
Hmn. Honestly, I agree with most of these. Th laziness gets on my nerves, but the idiotic lore behind the Primaris and the Ultramarines pushing this heretical 'initiative' breaks nearly every piece of lore pertaining to the Imperium of Man and a great many of the Chapters and their Primarchs.
I tried to give just a general outline to my reasons but, I should have included Primarchs returning. That is a big one in the changing of the setting to a Bright Hope one. On the other hand I also didn't talk about how I felt an update would have made sense if done correctly.
@@mrnobodypresents1349 Not just the Primarchs, but the ridiculous ease with which the Chapters were convinced to adopt this new process which in lore would have been viewed as absolute heresy.
Its pretty bad, however maybe there is a method to the madness. Suppose they are trying to birth a chaos god of Meh? Least that'd be a funny excuse for them.
I loved these mobile suits in Char's Counterattack, but... they feel a bit underwhelming here (like so many others in this game). It's not that it's awful, but it's not that good, either.
Lowe has a really good break down of the suit itself. However there is something about this one yet that just doesn't click with me. Not sure what it is.
This is unit is quite unique. It doesn’t have the best kit in terms of self-defense, but that’s not its purpose. This is a damage focused unit. The shield beams deal massive damage to enemies and it’s pretty fun to hit enemies. Big numbers go brrr. The funnels are a core part of the kit and are pretty nice. They deal good damage and are annoying while not putting you in too much risk. The rockets are a “punish” kind of weapon. That’s a base 3K damage if you hit all missiles and it comes out pretty quick. Good as a follow up for staggers or to fire at toppled enemies. The beam Gatling can deal a lot of damage quickly and has the ASL, which is always nice (even more in space), but I do agree that the GD beam rifle is probably better. The suit itself is pretty sturdy, but there are a few things that bother me. First, no weapons that can be fired while boosting. Second, no good instant damage or stagger weapons. But if you understand the weakness and strengths of the suit, it can be used to great effect. I would still prefer the Geymalk for the same role though. I really like the funnels and cannons of that suit. It’s a pretty fun MS to use. Great video as always.

If you want plain looking Blood Angels, you can just paint vanilla marines red. But Blood Angels are blingy in the lore, and people want to be able to represent that on the tabletop with unique sculpts.
The AEUG were always kind of sh_t, like much of the Earth Federation before them. Of course the Titans, for their own faults, put in most of the actual effort.

@@girthquake0 I did. Compared to the older kits they are very generic looking. Shouldn't these newer ones be a real show stopper? Look we might have different tastes and likes but, there is a point to the complaint. If they stepped it up in design I'd admit they out did the older designs even if I wasn't a fan of Primaris. @@mrnobodypresents1349 I can agree with you there, I think Primaris overall are just boring, bland and generic compared to Firstborn model kits, take the Sternguard Veterans for example, the Firstborn ones have so much more character than the generic and bland Primaris Sternguards.
Everyone’s mad about the sang guard and rightly so but for me possibly the worst downgrade was the sang preist. He went from being absolutely peak BA looking like some sort of Roman Catholic renaissance priest carrying out some sacred blood ritual… to a standard apothecary with a couple of BA bits tacked on. Despise it Like you said it’s a fine generic space marine model but it’s not a blood angel
One of the things I've noticed is the 'upgrade' to Primaris in general means dulling things. The old Sang Priest I liked a great deal even Torgua's is decent. This Blood Angels revamp is.. disappointing in the extreme. GW asks crazy prices yet phones in the design, it just isn't right. Thanks for watching!

the only people who should be allowed manage PR is fans, but then again they'd probably sound depressed from all the disappointment due to lack of content.
I don't hate the new Blood Angels, but I'm not defending the changes. Also Ultramarines in red are the Genesis Chapter! Besides, at least they Didn't get the Deathwatch treatment. Now they were done dirty!
Of course its no judgement on anyone for liking things just my own frustrations. Reason why I plan on getting some of the Bay space vamps to show off. i already pre ordered 3 of the army boxes, will also be grabbing 3 of the combat patrols when they release.. i love the new codex supplement going to make a sweet looking Bloodwatch chapter mixing blood angel and my deathwatch i think the SG look great, and don't really care if the DC is just intercessors with upgrade kits, ive done so much kitbashing for my deathwatch ill make them look unique too.. this hobby offers way too much freedom for creativity to get grumpy over some model changes and refreshes..
Good for ya, if you're happy with that quality level then great. However I will still voice my opinion that they aren't offering the quality of product they should be so thats that. However I'm curious how much did all that cost you? Round about total would be fine. Hopefully they put out a new MK 7 kit for Horus Heresy, 40k at this point holds basically no interest to me.
As a follow up, though I don't like them would like to see the project. Do you post work in progress? I'd honestly like to see what you do with all that.
@@mrnobodypresents1349 I started the army at the beginning of 1Oth edition as deathwatch it's only recently with the agents codex I've decided to merge blood angels with the deathwatch themes so still in testing paint scheme phase. I generally post on Reddit with some update photos First link is testing a possible paint scheme going with gold emblems black pauldrons with red trim for the random chapters pauldrons and the Deathwatch left pauldron and arm will be all red or red with silver lettering, and the rest are kit bash/model progress. The sort of lore for the chapter is the Xenos research they were doing for the inquisition went too far and and heretical and so they are hunted by other imperium factions for being too heretical.. So I collect fallen Marines from every chapter that have not fallen to chaos but are outcasts from their old chapters. My chapters goal is still to wipe out and extermiate Xenos threats. You spolied space marine players complaining about little nuances in the sculpt while im over here painting the same catachan models i did when i was 10. Im 34 now.
Hm? Is there something wrong with complaining about something you don't like? Blood Angels in this case were just one of my favorites from the early days. To your point, I've spent years complaining that GW does too much for Space Marines. That they should spread that focus onto the other lines of models. Even so I think the new lines of Marines are aweful and an open door for GW to ignore more of the factions.
Also an additional question if you don't mind. If the Catachan got a revisit what would you like to see first for them? A squad? A command box? Orc Hunters maybe? Also have you checked out Wargames Atlantic's take on the Catachan? What do you think of those? For myself I'd love to see a Catachan commissar model! I think that'd be interesting to see.
I have to be real here, I don't like the design of this one. It's largely due to the fact that the bazooka is mounted in its chest the way it is. If it were hard ammo, it'd be impossible since there's nowhere for the backblast to go. But, even as a beam weapon it irks me because the venting for the energy weapon has to GO somewhere; is it venting it back into the chest, near where the pilot is??
As I said, while I did start collecting Tempestus back when they got released, I'm pretty thoroughly sick of the sh_t GW keeps pulling. I haven't bought any GW minis in over a year and we're only playing Space Marine 2 because t was asked for on the channel.
