These little vids I put together is of my own experiences and show the way I like to fish for some of NZ fish species, I fish a lot on the Hauraki Gulf (my back door step). I also travel to the far North each year where I target Kings on jigs and have started to enjoy straylining for Snapper in the shallow Bays and Harbours - Occasionally we also like doing a bit of softbaiting or micro jigging but our main fishing revolves around straylining. I hope you enjoy some of the footage and I will also try to incorporate a few tips and tricks on how and why we fish some of these places.
Another wicked drop from you my friend. Again, thanks so much for the effort you put into the filming and then the editing on top of that for us, so that we too can enjoy your epic missions. Hoping the rest of your trip Is enjoyable, relaxing, safe and fun as heck, as I'm sure it will be. I’m already looking forward to your next drop. Tight lines 😊🤝👍🤙
Cheers W_W_NZ for your kind words, support and love hearing you are enjoying them 🙏 this why I do them for others to enjoy and inspire others to get out there. Tight lines🤙
Big ones definitely moving around the harbour at the moment, nabbed one 18lb last week. Been getting good ones around the graveyard on lures also. Softy’s and slow jigs. Cheers
Sweet time-lapse. You were fishing about 2ks from my really good spot. I got a 68cm there two weeks ago. The Minn Kota is great as you can fish 3/4 oz in full current.
Thanks Jase Ive been going there since late 80s. Great place and hospitality Loved Mark taking us over to Rabbit or Double Island And another 45 mins up to the best place in the world Stony Bay. Stay safe, luv your vids
Man you just brought back some awsome memories of that place, would drive down just about every weekend almost 30 years ago, to go land-based on those islands. Cheers mate
Hi EwJ - it does come down to personal preference but I prefer to use a dropper. It's good to keep your bait up off the bottom due to the paddle crabs. I do also occasionally use a running rig but always start with the dropper and more times just stay with it, You can get the ones where you can place your hook/bait on a grove so it's more streamline to.
