Love this song by The Spiral Staircase from the 60's. This is the only cover I've heard so far that sounds as fabulous as the original. Would like to hear Bruno and his band do the song in its entirety some day, sounded incredible.
Bruno is dooo talented. Do the whole song! He is such a great talent to the music world. He has it all. !. Dancing, writing ,singing, the whole picture. Love his videos. Love ya bruno. 😊❤❤❤❤
Bruno Mars is playing a syncopated tumbao rhythm on bongos while singing this classic song by Spiral Starecase! I don't think listeners know how difficult it is to do that.
Sorry, as good as he is, this can’t come close to the original composition in cool arrangement, driving beat and style…I would like his band to do a more complete cover of this classic…in the original, it is a not a lounge jazz feel…it is a powerful rhythm shuffle with strong bass line and horns, more like “Heatwave” by Martha and the Vandellas (Motown)…
She was covered in leather and gold Twenty one years old I lost her in the cold It's unfair, she's out there Somewhere, somewhere, somewhere in Brooklyn She's somewhere, somewhere, somewhere in Brooklyn Little miss perfect sitting at the train stop Red Nike high tops listening to hip-hop While we were waiting started conversating Before I got her name along came a train next stop Brooklyn (uh) now I'm lookin' She was covered in leather and gold Twenty one years old I lost her in the cold It's unfair, she's out there Somewhere, somewhere, somewhere in Brooklyn She's somewhere, somewhere, somewhere in Brooklyn On the street kickin' rocks circling the same block Green farm flat bush checking every corner shop Tappin' people's shoulders askin' if they know her Everyday's the same back to the train next stop Brooklyn (uh) I'm still lookin' She was covered in leather and gold Twenty one years old I lost her in the cold It's unfair, she's out there Somewhere, somewhere, somewhere in Brooklyn She's somewhere, somewhere, somewhere in Brooklyn Oh-oh-oh-oh I wonder if we'll ever meet again Oh-oh-oh-oh I wonder we we'll ever meet again Yeah I wonder if we'll meet again I hope we do somewhere in Brooklyn
I miss hearing Bruno Mars. He was around for me during high school, during college, during my first line of work...and came back for his album with Silk Sonic! This is the best version I have heard. It overwhelms me every time I hear this song though.
