TITLE: "In God We Trust!" SCRIPTURE: Psalms 33:12a and 118:5-6 SUMMARY: One summer's afternoon long ago I pulled a boat David and I had alongside the shackhouse on the dock for some gas. I had to chuckle at the sign there: "In God We Trust...All Others PayCash!" On this Sunday before we celebrate our nation's 248th birthday, we might put that in the form of a question: "In whom DO we trust?"
So what about all the christians that perished? Your god was tired of them? All nonsense and fiction. teach the children science and math, history and reality.
most naive preachers teach that the cock crow is a chicken. IT IS NOT. chickens were unclean and not allowed in Jerusalem. the cock crow is a man blowing the shofar, 3 times over an hour. the first blow means to wake up, and get ready. the 2nd blow, finish eating, dressing, and prepare to depart for the temple. the 3rd blow means get to the temple, worship service is starting. the reason he was called the cocks crow is that he started blowing the shofar at daybreak. if anyone teaches it was a chicken, doesn't understand scripture. BUT WHAT DO WE RABBIS' KNOW? IT'S ONLY OUR CULTURE, WORSHIP, AND LIFESTYLE FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS. what would Christianity and the bible have come to, if these religious gentiles hadn't come along and told us Rabbis' have this all wrong. point being......WE WERE THERE. YOU WERE NOT!!! a religious person is not a saved person. the temple leaders were very religious, but they knew not GOD. same today. nothing is new under the sun.
