I still have no idea what Sapphira was thinking with that lip sync look. The reveal also lookednso awkward from her while Nymphias were so well thought out and flawless.
I think Sapphira could have beaten NW if the conditions were different. First of all, her reveals could be a little more surprising. She revealed a blue outfit beneath just by taking a part out. She could be like Willow Pill, NW, or Aquaria and wear a big thing so she could reveal that. And those vampire teeth? I don't know, at the beginning I thought it was fun and caught my attention, but I noticed that it had nothing to do with the song or even a concept of what she was wearing (imagine if she had something like Anetra behind that, symbolizing blood, it'd make a huge difference). When they go to the final smackdown, they have to have a strategy of reveals, concepts, and why didn't Sapphira have that? She probably has a team as well; they could have brainstormed something, right? Maybe she was so fierce in the competition because her strength is in improvisation and planning with a short amount of time... And the other thing is: we saw Sapphira lip-syncing so many times; we know all of her tricks. NW didn't do it even once, if I'm not mistaken, just in regular challenges (in which we could see some shenanigans and how good she was, but it's not like a real lip-sync). Tem Nymphia came out with a stunt and a great performance and sealed the game... I took some time to accept her winning, but it was pretty clear, right... Anyway, I didn't think her outfit was great and had a great clear concept though; that disappointed me because she delivered all season long.

I also knew she would WIN at that moment then she continued to kick ass…seriously one of the best finals I’ve seen since season 1. Just absolutely love Nymphia from the moment she walked in with her BIG banana…smart, beautiful inside and out, creative and Caring…everything you want as the QUEEN 👑 of Drag Race…so happy for her 🏆.
I understand that the performance was confirmation but people being surprised that Nymphia won the crown, even after Sapphira being crowned 1st runner up, just prior to the final lip sync is baffling to me. It was super obvious that they crowned Sapphira second place as Nymphia Wind is the more marketable of the 2 finalists. And also given that Sapphira won so many mini challenges throughout the season, her work had already been done by the time the finale aired. 🙋🏾♂️My $.02
I think I can speak for everyone that we knew this when this season kicked off and see Nymphia Wind as the image wherever someone one was to select to watch drag race on whatever paid platform😅
