You should have bought the DTP Crosspoint 108 4K, that model has four 4K scalers build in...

Looks to me that the farther outputs are routed HD Base T and the closer two are HDMI, and the TVs are defaulting to 1080, and you're sending a 720 picture. It looks like the receiver is outputting a 1080 picture with the pillars and letterbox which is why you're getting them in the TV coming out of your Extron DA. It's not the DA's fault for repeating what it's given. You can either always send a 1080 picture from the source, or possibly find the setting for the HDMI output on the receiver and set it to 720 so the DA is getting 720 and not 1080 unscaled with pillars and boxes.

Oops I should have watched to the end. Your rear TV is HD Base T as well, but I still think it's the receiver that's adding the pillars and boxes and not scaling the picture.

Prime example why an AV consultant is needed... the integrator not only configured it wrong or didnt use scaling receivers... but they also wayyy oversold them on a DTP crosspoint 84( it looks like). They only have 1 source! A simple DA with scaling outputs would have sufficed or maybe an IN1608xi... Im a consultant wink wink. 😉

where are all the likes? are they in the dislikes? what does that even mean? did they dislike the product AND/OR hate their customer service AND/OR hate the content creator AND/OR hate the way the content was presented AND/OR got confused as to how to vote based on the previous conundrums??? guess i have to read the comments...

I’ll tell you right now, I’ve setup several of these units from scratch, and this is definitely not a fault. The scaling is setup wrong. This box is capable of handling this without issue. And yes, you will need the “Product Configuration Software”. Why you didn’t call your Integrator to fix this under warranty I’ll never know, or better yet the Extron support team.

My guess is that the original system was just a projector. Then someone decided to add monitors around the room. (You know, so people with eye on the side of their head and back of their head could see the screen better. ) Joke... :) Anyways it was probably added after the build. So the tech added one screen to the DTP and just plugged in and extend the HDMI direct without researching or testing the scale of things. I would call Extron directly. I would ask if there is a way to take that second DTP into a three way split output. Then extend that signal to the three monitors. IF you are looking to only put the same content on all 4 screens. IF NOT and you want to keep all the screens switchable. You will need to have each HDMI output sent through a single scaler or a scaler that can scale multiple out puts. The timing issue is a signal passing issue, sometimes the signal takes longer depending on what it pushing it or extending it. It is normal to see this lag. More important, is to see the right content and the right scale and clarity balance. Bottom line getting things more uniform for what you want out of it is most important.

i am a 50YO musician. i just learned about the "over/under" technique for coiling cables. i recently learned about how to lay them out in relation to power cords; or, alternatively, to other devices. i also learned, midway, what length they should be, and whether or not i need a DI box... etc. all this to eliminate noise***. electromagnetism. what did YOU learn today? at least he turned down the volume, in due diligence... and common sense. 'safety first.' to talk to fellow suits... not a PHD thesis, but good advice from you. this was an elaborate joke (on my part) to introduce some basics no one has ever learned. ;P ...and i doubt this YT-er cares. he's just showing the equipment. he's got numbers to crunch. ***except the over/under technique. that is to eliminate stress and tangles on cords. use straps. not knots with the cables..

@cortedemico 2 года назад
by "ever learned" i meant 'newbies'... i am half a century old and recently learned it is better to have your power cables perpendicular to your audio cables, AND to have your audio cables not close to power sources that are "not in the loop". probably best to have audio cables come in at a consistent angle, maybe. 3:35 he even used a stereo plug for a 'hopefully' female stereo insert, to a stereo adaptor - to a stereo cord... oh, jesus. i am still typing.

The HDbaseT Outputs are scaled outputs. While Outputs 1&2 are unscaled...the yellow calbe is attached to the internal controller.

Painfully obvious that you're not an AV guy. It's not Ethernet, it's DTP (video over UTP). More than likely you have a jumbled mess of settings that are different between the TVs and the outputs of your Crosspoint switch may have different aspect settings. Call your integrator that installed the gear (or better yet, a good integrator) and have them fix it.

This looks like a few issues. 1. The EDID is probably all wrong. This is a setting that communicates to the Laptop/PC/Blu-Ray/etc... and tells the source device (Laptop, PC, etc...) what to output. 2. The Code should easily be able to handle putting the displays into the proper mode to allow for a full screen. Every Time. 3. For the slow switching issue.... That is an HDMI thing. The Display and the Projector that switch fast are on Scaled Outputs. That means the Display and the Projector are getting constant signal. This means the Display and Projector don't have to renegotiate with the Source device. The ones on the non-scaled outputs will have to re-negotiate with the source device every time you switch sources. This negotiation can take up to 10 seconds each time you switch (think of how long your cable TV box can take to show up after you turn it and your TV on.). 4. The difference between colors on displays is to be expected, to some extent. Differences between manufacturer batches for the displays/cables/projectors can account for minor changes in color. However, any AV integrator worth their salt can compensate for this. TV's have color settings that can be adjusted, as do Projectors. Proper adjustments of these with a trained Technician/Field Engineer and a light meter should be trivial. 5. This isn't probably an issue yet, but it will be. Plastic Tie wraps. They damage Solid Core, Twisted Pair cabling (a.k.a. CAT5, CAT6, etc...). Usually takes between 9 to 16 months to show itself. You will see random green screens on your displays/projector. Images will flicker wildly. You will see green, blue, and/or red speckles across one or more displays. And color differences between displays. I am a Design Engineer for an AV integrator. Please feel free to contact me, if these issues are still present. If we can set up a remote session(Team viewer, Skype, Remote Desktop, Webex, whatever floats your boat), I will gladly assist you. Reach out to me via Linkedin and we can set something up. I work for Strategic Connections, Inc in Winston Salem, NC.

So the EDID setting can be changed through the Extron software using the serial input?
@Jumpman360
@Jumpman360 4 года назад
@@s_s_rsh I'm not sure I understand the question... Code can changing the EDID setting, but I would recommend using Extron Product Configuration Software. You can use PCS to change the EDID via USB or Ethernet.

I think you should add two external scalers to those HDMI outputs to get full screen display.

can you please change the laptop resolution on 1024×768 . Or also change the TV display setting on image .
@Jumpman360
@Jumpman360 6 лет назад
Do not do this. 1024x768 is a 4:3 aspect ratio. The displays are 16:9. If you were to do this, the image would be even smaller on the non-scaled displays. And the images on the scaled outputs would either look two ways. First would be really stretched (like a fun house mirror that makes you look wider). The second would be the images would have large black bars on the side of it.

I'm sure this has been resolved by now but if not give the S3 hotline a call. Those inconsistencies may be resolved with proper EDID setup on the input side of the DTP Crosspoint. They can definitely be resolved with scalers on outputs 1 & 2. The HDMI outputs are not scaled and simply passing the source signal directly to the displays compared to the DTP outputs that are scaled. My first suggestion would be to pass the EDID of the display located on output one to all inputs.
@harrythomas7192
@harrythomas7192 7 лет назад
Hi, perhaps you've already figured this out, but just in case: The outputs that look like Ethernet cables are called DTP outputs (they can also operate in what's called XTP or HD-BaseT modes as needed). It's not Ethernet, just uses the same type of cable. The DTP outputs have built-in scalers, the HDMI outputs do not. That's why the displays on the HDMI outputs are performing inconsistently, they have to adapt each time you change the signal coming out of the laptop, or any other source device. The projector and the other display don't have to react the same way because they are seeing a consistent output from the scalers. The external DTP transmitter is just enabling the longer run from that HDMI output to the rear monitor. Based on the limited view here of your system it appears the the other monitor is close enough to the switcher that it was possible to run an HDMI cable directly to it. You most likely have DTP receivers at the projector and the two flat screens that are farthest from the switcher. You could add external scalers to the HDMI outputs to get the same results. Depending on the capabilities of your flat screens you might also be able to have your controller configured to set the viewing mode appropriately when you turn the system on, but you might also need a button to reset that mode when you change sources. If you add external scalers you might not need that.

Is there any EDID setting that can be changed for the Tx so that it can permanently solved?
