You still haven't done a video on the fact that half the players on runescape3 are using the game as a platform for irl gaming. t. runehall and other sites.
The problem is and always has been discovery, and what that could possibly entail if Jagex were to pursue a case past settlement. They stand to lose more money in damages via forced disclosure during discovery than they stand to gain from shutting down one provider, unless that provider were to be hitting critical mass. I hate botters, I hate the folks rwting, but I don't see anything happening other than a potential C&D, threats of litigation, and an eventual out of court settlement that results in 0 money trading hands and this particular service being shuttered. That's a clear win, but it's not the same type of win most of us would hope for. It protects Jagex and achieves the end result that matters most to the players. I'd very much like to see more of an effort put towards detection of these tools as well as effort towards simply raising the barrier of entry. With no anticheat and no attempt at detecting runtime modifications, RuneScape has become "baby's first game hacking project". And that sucks.
You really should have blocked out the bot info. I know of at least two people that started using the bots in your video because they just googled the bot names you left uncovered.
The bot name is censored throughout this video. However people can google for scripts and find them, this is Google's fault and not mine. Jagex should be driven to take action. Please also report anyone you know who's started botting either in game or by emailing as much information and screenshots as you can to tipoff@jagex.com
Showing viewers (who should not be cheating in RuneScape...) the extent of scripts available, to help them push Jagex to action is a POSITIVE. It helps demonstrate how serious this issue is.
They both have an active discord. One of them is free. Ofcourse its illegal, but its pretty impressive what the bot can do. I dont know what Jagex will do to stop them though.
Non-Rs3 player here. Does the area at 2:34 actually look like that or is it just some visual overlay? It is very unappealing to my eyes and I hope that is an overlay.
Great question. It doesn't actually look like this - the botters have basically forced the client into an ultra low resolution mode that isn't rendering anything.
It might be what the area looks like with textures turned off but I've never been there with it turned off so idk. A lot of areas in the game look really weirdly coloured with textures off.
@@vee-v Hiding the bot doesn't make them money, which is all there is to this tbh, same as OSRS. But , it hurts me more in OSRS considering how time consuming it is in comparison to rs3, which is just PvE anyway
Bots dont make the game at all. In fact, the current economy would be insanely healthier if it lost 100% bots today and we had to deal with supply on our own would also force a complete transfer of wealth properly over all accounts fixing everything to a larger degree.
Exactly, @HawkAnomaly Look at what happened in OSRS when the gorilla bot farm got banned (super recent). Zaryte jewelry climbed to a healthy price. It's now worth taking that slayer task, whereas before you lost gp on supplies!

@@vee-v I can't paste a link in because my YT comment will get automatically deleted (that's an actual thing for some people dw about it) but there is an article 4 months ago interviewing Jagex's new owners mentioning how "if someone has 3 accounts, chances are 2 of them are bots, and that's okay" there was a big drama about it that blew up Reddit. The article is called "Spending a lot of time on RuneScape" on Financial Times news site
@@vee-v I can't share source directly because my YT comment will get automatically deleted (that's an actual thing for some people dw about it) But there is an article 4 months ago interviewing Jagex's new owners mentioning how "if someone has 3 accounts, chances are 2 of them are bots" and they go on to say it's okay as they are paying and as long as it's not excessive. This was a big drama on Reddit. The article is called "Spending a lot of time on RuneScape" on Financial Times I didn't follow the drama enough to see if the JMods made up some excuse, but the interview appears to be real (and let's be honest these are investors, ofc they think like that and would push Jagex to operate like that. But I do think it's more likely they do ban bots as fast as they can and that the investors were speaking their mind)

Saddest part is, if they're located in America, then Jagex can easily have them put in prison for this. It's actually a federal crime to sell any form of currency for USD if the creator of said currency doesn't allow the trade. In other words, RWT is a felony. Normally, Jagex isn't willing to incriminate anyone for something like that. But in this case, I feel like they probably should.
"For federal tax purposes, virtual currency is treated as property. General tax principles applicable to property transactions apply to transactions using virtual currency." So it's only a felony if you withhold taxes because of stupidity/greed
I'd bet that there's jmods involved past and present. There's too much money on the line and the hackers/lurers get info about accounts far too easily. The scrimshaw bug was big but not as big as knocking the worlds offline dupe that went on for many years. RS3 partyhats, crackers, masks, santas and gp/shards got duplicated The osrs youtuber by the name of "pip" uploaded a video called "I Went Undercover to Anti-Lure Runescape Lurers" yesterday exposing lures and they started to threaten him if he explains their lure. This is their bread and butter be careful.
I love how these groups act like big cyber criminals just for some fake GP. Granted they can sell it for IRL cash, but risking life with a record for game gp is silly. I applaud you Vee for coming forward and still talking about the topic even though they tried to scare you into being quiet! Silence is where they thrive and under the light is where they die.
Theres some seriouse amount of cash involved lol People do way more wicker stuff for smaller amounts of money So yes people do bad stuff for money its been known for a long time
I think one of the reasons that bonds are now higher than they were before is because you could exploit bond prices by having your Steam account in different regions. I was buying bonds and selling them on the grand exchange for around $1 per bond due to using a Turkish steam account. I bought over 7B worth of bonds in a very short period of time. I can't have been the only one exploiting this technique as it was cheaper than RWT the GP. This has since been patched with steam removing regionalised pricing for certain countries.
@@ThisFnGuyFiend I can't remember exactly how much I spent as bond prices have changed but I ended up with 7B cash stack. I also bought around 3000 keys and a years memberships all for VERY VERY cheap.
