Louisiana is not paying people what they deserve. They are not up to part with paying people or not caring about all of the other things people want to get paid.
The only good thing about Louisiana, is if a civil war breaks out, or an emp hits. Your chances are better if you live outside the city in the country or bayous. If you know how to fish and hunt, you will always have food. And unless you were born in the swamps, nobody going to find you. Lets just say, unfamiliar outsiders will end up being gator food.
The ability to work remotely has made me really not want to relocate from Louisiana. In addition, with the lower cost of living and inflation, I think Louisiana is a pretty good deal.
insurance rates are sky high, auto and housing. The housing took a hit 2 years ago as even if you never made a claim, you end up paying for all the hurricanes across Texas, louisiana, and the rest of the coast. our insurance went up 700 this year for nothing. no explantion.
there are only two kind of people in Louisiana, those that are too stuck to move, or too poor to leave. the first 3 things mentioned can be taken with you where every you go. you don't need to stay in one place all your life to have those things.
When I was a little, my mother moved us out to New Orleans from the West back in the early 70's after my parents divorce. I was only there for a couple of years till my mother's death; but I must say that I'm grateful to have experienced the wonderful food and hospitable people in my early life. All that New Orleans was, the good, the bad, the ugly...and the beautiful! But I'm a Western gal and always will be, I suppose. But I think about NOLA sometimes because that's where my mother's remains are...

Moving from Massachusetts to Louisiana for my PhD. I hear so much about gun violence and a new law that would kick start on July 4th, that enables anyone of age to carry arms without permit or license, Scary for me.
The reports of crime in the entire metro region are insane, including in neighboring parishes. Most people don't follow the daily news, but crime is everywhere in the Capital region.
@sharondallalio4451 My roots in Louisiana go back to 1848. Having said that...I've lived in Colorado most of my life. But when I go back to visit cousins etc. I Gotta tell you....I ❤️ the False River area around New Roads. And I wad born in South Baton_rouge..your thoughts...
Born and raised in Thibodaux and have only been in the Deep South of the state I enjoyed learning the difference between the 2 parts. Love to call the Boot home!
starting the video right now - is it about violent crime? because not wanting to get burglarized or murdered is the main reason people avoid Baton Rouge
I lived in Baton Rouge about 30 years ago. Violent crime was out of control. The day I moved in I watched the news and there were more murders than elapsed days of the year. Political corruption was the worst I ever saw, before or since. Police weren’t even responding to 911 calls. I personally saw a mausoleum crypt that had been broken into. A child on a school field trip found a syringe on the grounds of the state capitol building. Outside the city limits the parish of East Baton Rouge was a little better but not by much. I was so glad to leave and I have never been back and it is the only place that I lived that I would never return. A true cesspool.
I live in Baton Rouge, I lived 22 years in Dallas, retired tech executive now, I love your videos, will refer new residents your way! Thank you for your presentations
South Louisiana is Waterboy. North Louisiana is Duck Dynasty. South Louisiana (Catholics), North Louisiana (Protestants). North and South are entirely different animals.
