Russell did a lot of commercials as a kid and worked on a series with Charles Bronson. SOLDIER was said to be part of the BLADERUNNER universe. In the dump where Russel's character gets dumped into you can see among the waste a SPINNER from Bladerunner. I can see where it fits but it may have just been laying around the studio lot when the FX guys needed junk for the junkyard. Loved SOLDIER. EVENT HORIZON pretty damned cool. I think it may have been confused with a George Clooney film out around the same time, losing some box office.
Probably removed due to low viewership, though given the ability to store massive amounts of data these days it seems illogical, it's also possible that their licenses to stream it ran out. Streaming is highly practical, having ten million different streaming platforms is not. Everyone argues physical media vs streaming or vice versa, I argue for unity under one unified system, capitalism has done it's job in getting us this far but it is too dangerous to remain in control. Personally I can't wait for humanities movements to be guided by an AI somewhat like in this movie, though I would only employ it in an advisory capacity and not a complete control capacity. Good movie though.
😂 i thought the transfer itself was an original from 70s. Like no way that will work being that old. Then saw how white the paper transfer was and understood the assignment.
@@horrormike maybe not in an overt way but it's pretty much an allegory for mad scientists and AI (technocracy themes anyone?) destroying humanity's freedom.
the real conspiracy here is that everyone wants to make money off of their own subscription streaming service. Therefore they remove every one of their media from every other streaming service, so they have a unique selling point by being the only one hosting said media. Because everyone does this and users can only pay for ~3 out of the 100 streaming serviced that now exist, that means every streaming service is broke and can't afford to pay license fees for obscure scifi movies from 1970. I love conspiracies, but this isn't one. It's just companies being so greedy that they are destroying their own businesses.
It even has the pyramid with the eye inside it all over the place. Kind of gives away what the real intentions are for AI. And the current propaganda is that Russia must not be allowed to exist. James Cameron definitely saw this movie back then.
Movies start to disappear about how dangerous a US military AI is when it goes rouge ... at the same time US military is actually working on AI Seems pretty straight forward to me
@@horrormike It’s been around far longer than most are willing to admit I believe lots of mainstream artists have been using chatgbt style AI to write song and albums, they seem to fit a certain algorithm
I just happened upon this movie, "Primevals," here on the tube, WOW! How did I never hear of this movie! Then Your video about the Movie! WOW! Thank You Sir for sharing this information about it! This is going to be a MUST for me now! I am really looking forward to this!
this is great that dave allen's work was compleated, in the 1978 cinefantastique magazine vol-8 number-1 did an in-deph article on the primevals, he was a dear friend of mine, and i saw him make the alien on the energy cannon, he was so cool. internet archives has the cinefantastique for download......enjoy.
