I don’t see the issue unless I’m missing something. They are both willing to hand over their identification and go through the process also the guy might not have the money to buy it. So his brother is paying for it
It makes sense legally. If something Bad happens, there IS no passing blame or responsabilité. Just need to wire the money OR put it in your name: doesnt change much for you but helps a lot justice when Say .... There IS a MASS SHOOTING or MURDER IN AMERICA???? like Every other day??
The ccw allows them to skip the 4473, and if they both have one, they are definitely fine to buy. Likely an in person gift selection. And as far as the mass shootings claim, 99% of those are gang on gang.
Gun laws are weird. I can't let a store know that I'm buying a gun for someone else, but I'm still legally allowed to purchase a gun, even if I plan to give it as a gift for a family member at some point in the future. Those two identical things don't make any sense, even though the other the same exact thing. Growing up, we used to buy SKS rifles for nearly nothing for friends when they turned 18 and no one had any problem with it.
A daily occurrence, sadly. Fortubatelt, some folks understand and will submit to background checks without argument. So I have to ask. Does the ccw permit aspect mean you are in a permit exemption state?
This is known as a straw purchase attempt. Ironically, it's supposed to be fine to have both parties complete a background check, and if they both pass, transfer. But, the ATF is well known for trting this in shops with paid informants.
