The light illumination is very good for road, brighter than anyone needs and very nice pattern, but the mounting system is a bit fragile. I have 2 and I already broke one of the mounts after 2000km. It is replaceable but I haven't found the parts yet. I think other mounting systems like the MagicShine Alty, are more durable. If you don't ride rough or have front suspension it's probably going to last longer.
The chainring is 44t(stock), the freewheel is 17t and I also have a 17t fixed gear on the other side of the hub as a backup. I think this ratio is ok for commuting and also carrying some weight on the bike, but if I didn't have the rack I would probably use a 16t on the rear.
Depends on what you're looking for. The city itself is not very bike friendly, but outside of it you can find some nice quiet roads. Also there is a decent amount of trails if you are into MTB, but the mountains are not very tall. Most of the good stuff is usually +30km away, with mountains up to 630m. Also 60-70km away you can also find some that are over 1200m. More than that you'd have to go to the Pyrenees which is almost 200km one way.
Amazing bike ! It seems like mine "1985 Ganna Pioneer MTB" (single speed with chain tensioner, 26" wheels with quick release, CST 51mm tyres, 42x18 teeth, Shimano cantilever brakes, city handlebar). The upgrades I would like to do on my bike are: - upgrade cantilever brakes to vbrakes - upgrade CST tyres with Schwalbe Big Apple or Big Ben - upgrade the chinese saddle with something better like SMP TRK or Brooks C17
Can you post a video in which you talk about technical aspects of your other bikes (Fuji Feather, DiamondBack Sorrento etc.) like that you've already done for Elops Speed 500 ?
I got it from Decathlon, but it is not like the original one, as this one is quick-release and also has sealed cartridge bearings. I think this one is used in the Triban branded bikes, P/N is 8666309. The original ones are loose ball bearings which are cheaper and require more maintenance. Decathlon also sells a "fixie" specific front wheel, with classic solid axles and nuts and also sealed cartridge bearings (P/N 8331948), but it is more expensive than the one I got.
hey, which year fuji feather do you own? I'm looking to get one but its hard to come by in my country lol, it doesnt help that the models and years are really confusing. Is 2022 the newest model? I want a cool gray or sage pearl, both of them say 2022 but one of them has an XL size of 58, the other one is XL 60, its so confusing
I have the 2023 model in sage pearl, which is cheaper than the 2022. Main differences are the fork, which is now unicrown, and the fact that they don't use Reynolds 520 steel, instead they use a "custom" Fuji chromoly steel. Also the 2022 model has 25c Kenda tires, while the 2023 has cheaper 30c CST. As for sizing, I went with L (57) and I'm 181cm, it fits well even if I'm on the threshold for the XL. But I followed the common advice as to go with the smaller size when in doubt.
@@CalafellUrbanCycling I see. I just asked my local Fuji reseller if it's possible to order any of these bikes since they don't have any in stock, they will get back to me.. I'm around 185 and not sure about the size, since I will have to order without trying it out.. I have only ridden a mtb and the geometry is so different
Yellow Velo Gang! 🤘 I love my Raceblades. I also have SKS Velo 65s on my hardtail commuter. Hands down, the best two cycling accessories I've ever bought.
@@CalafellUrbanCycling yeah, sometimes i like doing wheelies ( i know its childish lol) and with disc brakes the slightest press just makes you lose balance..
@@drexd8453 Not good, I have some videos recorded in low light and the quality is quite bad and the framerate low. It is only usable in well lit areas at night. Example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PwUATeRyJrw.html I'm thinking of getting one of the DJI Osmo action cameras soon
It depends on what brightness you use. For me, using the low beam in the brightest setting, and occasionally using the high beam at full intensity, I can get 6 to 7 hours. But if you use it more conservatively I think you can get over 10 hours. But I prefer to have the best illumination of the road I can get.
