Matt Watson is a world travelling, van dwelling stand up determined not to grow up. After winning Ottawa's Up & Coming Comedian Award early in his career, he hit the road indefinitely coming to the realization that there's no point paying rent to live in a stranger's place, when you can park outside of it for free. Why pay a landlord? Be a Vanlord! He shares his unique lifestyle on his youtube channel Matt Watson Comedy which got him featured in New York's Business Insider & ABC News in Australia. He's performed at Just For Laughs 42, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, International Glasgow Comedy Festival, Aberdeen Comedy Festival, Perth International Arts Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, & can be heard on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. Every performance Matt's goal is cheer people, make them happy and have them forget at least momentarily all the unpleasantness in their lives, in hopes to remind them that their own passions are worth chasing.
shouldve brought food to value village and seen how much power it took to cook, like pizza pockets or popcorn with that big machine lmao missed opportunities but still a great video!
they ladies at that tim hortons go through alot, and they help alot of the homeless. They stopped giving free cups when they started to abuse it, They also torment the staff in there. its not a surprise they dont do free stuff any more. but good on you.
Looking at the situation that’s what I figured had caused such a harsh response. If the owner cared for its staff, they should hire security for them. Although for them to be effective, I’d pass on whatever company staffs the Saddledome;)
I think you're missing the point of the vanlifer's mindset. Their minds are not set, that's the point! Statistically a quarter of the world's population have mental health issues, and I'll bet most "real" vanlifers will freely admit they belong in those statistics. Moreover those of us who watch them will admit to not playing with a full deck, I know I'm certainly not! When Brian (of Life of fame) said " You are all individuals, you don't need to follow anyone" his tongue was embedded firmly in his cheek. And the bloke that replies "I'm not" is representative of us sheep! We are not individuals, because we all wear clothes. Fashion is the biggest trait that binds us, just ask David Eagleman of "The Brain" fame!
It’s been a while since I’ve circled back to this video, but I believe the ‘lie’ I’m referring to is the highly filtered social media influence that causes a first timer to try, but be disappointed because it’s not living up to instagrams unattainable expectations. Will be checking out Brian’s works tho:)
This made me so happy man. Some people just dont get it , but nothing truly makes me happier than seeing a smile and hearing a thank you from someone in need. Knowing i helped them that little bit makes me feel so much better than anything money could ever buy. ❤️
Agreed buddy:) Hoping this project will encourage others to express their own random acts of kindness. Even if it’s just a pair of socks and a bag of nuts.
Winnipeg is a joke. Moved here 11 years ago and if I didnt have kids with a native I would be gone. Your lucky nobody stabbed you and took everything. Ive been a early morning garbage man and have seen things that would make you rethink being alive. All the people that have Winnipeg pride do not go downtown after 12 pm.....
Making True North look stupid while helping the needy? Liked and subbed. If you really want some rotten stories ask around about how TNS security treats the folks you were helping. Its not kindly.
I haven’t heard, but that’s horrific! As if someone who doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from doesn’t have enough problems. Appreciate the support though buddy! Means a lot.
Hi Matty, I'm looking for a wing man for F1 in Montreal, I got a single general admission ticket for three days, let's try getting in VIP, my French and English are 10/10. Let's Go!!!
Keep exploring to show the world it's vulnerabilities, both within the city centre money machine and on the streets surrounding that reality! Thanks for supporting those in need!
Hoping this project will encourage others to share their own acts of kindness. Doesn’t take much, could even be just a pair of socks and a bag of nuts;) Thanks for watching!
The unexpected twist of turning the money you’ve avoided and using it for something nice in the community is really awesome. I bet Rogers isn’t losing sleep over this ticket but many people in need lose sleep over their next meal. Really important message and great video :)
Thanks Austin:) I’ve had a few people say I should mention the handouts off the top, but I like rewarding those who decide to stick around beyond the sneak on their own. Love your line about “not losing sleep over this ticket, but many lose sleep over their next meal.” Thanks for the love bud!
Feeding the homeless is enabling their life style. People who are blindly compassionate are noble but not helpful. Could donate to food banks where they have discounts and additional resources (like directing these people to rehab/information).
In Edmonton I did end up leaving the remainder of my haul at a shelter. But I prefer to avoid middle men whenever possible, because it tends to slow down and even water down the process. My system right now relies on me and me alone which is putting food in the hands of those who are hungry. No fat to trim off that bone, but I do appreciate the suggestion.
The last thing you said in the video really puts things into perspective. I hope True North (Owner's of the Jets and Centre) are paying attention. Thank you for your kindness to the folks in Winnipeg 🤍♥️💙
It means the world that you watched until the end:) I hope they get the message but it’ll probably fall on deaf ears. Fortunately, that won’t be slowing me down any. Thanks for watching!
If you use rubber backed curtains, and two fold them and stitch them, NO LIGHT will get through. You have to make them a couple of cm larger than the window to overlap the edges.
I’m just making videos, but it means a lot that you’re enjoying them! Was able to pull off a similar heist in Toronto in case you hadn’t seen it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7ORr6gveaVI.html Thanks for watching!
Nice to see that you can get it NHL hockey game in Winnipeg and since CFL sean is going to be starting with regular season soon why don't you try it with Canadian football stadiums to see if it works? Plus I love the love you gave to the less fortunate!!
Incredible restaurant industry there! Many out of country restaurants will make Winnipeg their first location in Canada as it gives a good test of the Canadian market.
Doubtful that blur on your screen is the security scanner for the lane they entered through. Same lane I bobbed under the rope to. Scanner was way too far off the doorframe which is how the seam was created.
I do Uber Eats and I like doing East Vancouver, around main and Hastings area. It's a pretty busy area, and I get the pass through this intersection and this area quite a bit. I like it down there, everyone's actually pretty chill and friendly and interesting. The rest of the city can be a bit uptight and a bit snooty.
