I think TLC offers settlement for half of the fee automatically, at least on the first ticket. You need to pay in cash though. Went through the hearing. The lawyer is correct that the judges are in the pocket of TLC. In my case, it was clearly an entrapment. I wasn't looking to do any of it, but an awkward looking guy showed up at the window and after a 'no' continued to stare and act vulnerable as if in urgent need of someone to bail him out. So, it's wisest to just pay half the fine. First violation is $1500, not $2000. So half of that would be $750.
the cops dedicate a lot of resources and manpower to trying to frame uber drivers for street hail fines. its all they do for a living. if you're an uber stay clear of airports. I don't care if the airport allows uber driver pickups. its a very gray area. the cops are there not to protect you but to rob you.
just wondering, if an uber driver in New york has a suspended tlc license and continues to drive for uber, will uber notify the tlc that he/she is still driving around with a suspended license or will the driver only receive penalties if pulled over by a cop.

I totally agree with you...Everyone really needs a good traffic ticket lawyer in NYC. NYC traffic court is odd in my opinion...well, its just different than any other court I've ever dealt with. So, YES!...Get Your Lawyer!
