Hey Belle! So glad to see the creativecway your friend keeps fit. It's so important to keep the midsection down to prevent heart disease. I'm 63 and make my fitness a priority as well!
Hi Belle! My busband was prepping before we got married 6 years ago. Then when the pandemic came, it was over!!😂😂😂 We have enough food and paper products for an army plus a large bin full of supplies i.e. first aid supplies, soap, matches, batteries, rope, lanterns, duct tape, can opener, deodorant, shower gel, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, cough medicine, Tylenol, Motrin, candles, (but those are only if the lanterns don't work for some reason,) sanitizing wipes, baby wipes, freeze dried paper towels, long lighters, plastic sheeting, twine, large metal hooks, Vaseline, scissors, laundry detergent, etc.etc. There's a lot more, but these are what I remember off the top of my head. We even have tiny bottles of liquor to trade with or use for emergency first aid. We live in Michigan and I'm keeping some of my too large sweaters for emergencies also. I normally donate all of them, but now is the time to just keep some for a change. It's fun to me to gather this stuff to save for emergency purposes. I like to think I'm ready, but there is always more I can add.❤
I LOVE your list! You and your husband and family are very prepared! An impressive and very important mindset for the times we live in. Additionally, think of all the money you have saved as prices continue to escalate! I hope more people will read your comment to learn what they too could prep. They need to be encouraged that being prepared is necessary for peace of mind in the days ahead!
@@Bellesplace50sThanks Belle! During the pandemic I started watching other preppers here on RU-vid. They gave great advice on supplies to have in addition to staple food items. I continue to purchase items when I shop. One needn't buy everything all at once. This can be done little by little over time. A lot of things, like those long lighters, can be purchased in expensively at Dollar Tree. All I say to anyone starting to prepare, is start NOW!
Sleeping bags for cold climates. Preferably the bags that go to zero or below for when the electricity goes out. They're also handy if you just want to keep your heat low at night to save energy and money.
I love your testimonial. I got a power hoop about 6 or 7 years ago. It's so fun. I got the 5lb hoop. I would like to get another one. Any hooper in Gwinnett?

Try “Deer Buster” Egg Nog Tonic 2 eggs. 2 cloves of garlic. 2 TBSP of hot sauce 2 TBSP of cayenne pepper 2 cups of water Put ingredients in a blender and purée them. Allow mixture to sit for two days then pour or spray it around all the plants you need to protect. reapply it every other week or after a rain to keep odor fresh. let me know how it works 👍
Please continue to encourage Amy as she does incredible gardening and shares as well as inspires her community! Kudos to her husband for his carpentry skills and fantastic support! 👍
Sorry to hear about your accident. Life tends to throw us some curve balls now and then. Carrying your phone is kind of a pain, but if you are out in the "back forty" 😉 and fall and break your ankle, it would be good to have. Also if you do break an ankle, an office chair is great for scooting around. Extra food/meals is always a good idea. A good supplement for bones is Garden if Life, Grow Bone. Take care and I hope you heal quickly. 🤗🙏
Welcome back, friend .happy to see you getting back at it.thank you for sharing. you're always so informative and so insightful.really appreciate you..🎉

Yes being a boomer myself I have been getting mine garden back up to speed. I have just came across the channel. I'm doing mine out of a wheelchair and that is a long story. I'm back to it and I think that the best way to live grow and raise your own. Like it used to be. And at 70years it takes a little bit longer but we can still have to a get it done attitude.😊❤
Hi everyone! Thanks again for stopping by! Forgive me for lagging behind in keeping up with my publishing. I did need to mention again that they said the bacterial infection created acute bronchitis. Hoping all is well with you and your gardens! Please do me a favor and hit the like button. If this is your first time visiting I hope🙏🏼 you will subscribe!!
Ok! I am growing them up! My phone is acting up! No decent camera. I may put something on community post. 😩Will be posting Sunday!🙏😍😩👍You are doing fabulous! Hope that eye got taken care of!!
it was awesome meeting you. You don’t smell the fish heads at all! Place the fish heads in the pre-dug hole then cover with garden lime. The lime totally masks the smell and it keeps animals from smelling and digging in the hole. I was outside earlier today bracing the two plants up with another tomato cage. it is HUGE and healthy. Thanks for asking!
I'm 100% with you!! I'm 63 years old. I walk, bike, lift weights, and exercise in general 5 days a week. Our health is of utmost importance as we age. It's not just about looking good at our age. I exercise to prevent lifestyle diseases, improve my mood, reduce stress, get more Vitamin D. Walking also helps keep your bones strong! I alternate fast with slow walking for a HIIT workout. Let's hit it!🚶♀️🏃♀️🚴🏿♀️🏋♀️
Will this go up under the walkway and kill flowers planted beside the walkway? I know that it should be put directly on the weeds, but I'm concerned about it hurting my flowers 💐.
I would say try to keep the spray away from the flowers however, I think that the best way to do it is to put the mixture as close to the weeds as possible even if you don’t get to spray it all pour it on and so far so good for my plants I don’t actually go into the garden and spray but I spray all the weeds near my potted plants and especially around the front area of my home where I have a rock border around my blueberries and tomato plants. Hope this helps.
I have seen a weed device advertised which pulls the weeds completely up. However, I am certain that many weeds are airborne and the struggle to keep them under control is to pull and use the least toxic methods available.
