This is THE STUPIDEST software design choice for a TV I have ever seen. Bought one of these for my grandma (late 80s at the time, with progressing dementia...) to upgrade from her 27" TV she's had for probably 2 decades. Figured it would be nice for her to have in the nursing home, since that's basically all there is to do there. I thought for sure a new TV on the market would certainly have HDMI-CEC (aka Auto-On functionality when turning on a device attached via HDMI), or at least a function that allows to switch to any input when the TV is turned on. She had issues with her old TV switching inputs and had difficulty remembering to just press HDMI 1 to get the cable box back on. One of the worst mistakes I've ever made. She had so much trouble with this stupid FireTV. Multitudea more frustrating that her old one. I did find the Last Input option shortly after getting it set up. Problem with that is, if you open any other app by accident, or switch to another input (fat chance of that since they hide the option TO switch inputs under many menu layers for some godforsaken reason), when you turn the TV off and back on again... Cable HDMI IS NO LONGER the last input. I could just go on and on about how much Insignia / Amazon f*d up the functionality of this TV... The one problem I was trying to fix by buying her this TV was made exponentially worse by doing so... She would constantly call my mom saying the TV was messed up. Then my mom would call me. I figured out you could hold one of the menu buttons on the controller to switch inputs more easily, but did they REALLY need to make it so damn complicated? The TV is mine now. To say it without saying it (if you get what I mean). At this point, I'd rather take a sledgehammer to it rather than even sell it. But, I guess I'll make do. Or take a breather... and sell it I guess lol. All the advanced smart TV software they crammed into this thing and they just had to make the simple things most people look for and expect out of a TV ridiculously complicated... Btw. Try enabling ARC/eARC support in options. As I read it may enable HDMI-CRC Auto-On functionality. But, don't go getting your hopes up! It is still an Insignia.
Thanks for this the When we were doing it we would have to go to inputs and hit inputs each time my mom Wanted To watch cable tv and it was Very aggravating to have to put it on the Right input each time she just get a New TV Because her old 1What's going out Newer TVS Don't last very long 🤦💓
Ty for the vid! We got it for Xmas but I was so scared to use it. Now that prices are up on the microwave packs I decided to just try it out. Your vid helped a lot and everything worked out great so Ty 😊
Friend of Vernon Wilmer here. I worked with Vernon at the Experience. He talked about his doc quite a bit, so I can offer some insight. I'm commenting because more than one person has brought this post to my attention, even though it is 2 years old. It was Vernon's intention to do an hour for every year he was at the Experience, and that very quickly became an hour or two for every year the Experience existed. Then it became more than a two hours an episode. And the scope escalated from there; he would release an episode, and THEN would get bombarded with "I was there!" emails or Star Trek Las Vegas Convention conversations and he would get MORE footage, pictures and anecdotes from people. He would play with altering episodes that he had done before moving on, he would try to do new episodes but get bogged down in more footage for older episodes. It became a very intimidating project to do for nothing but love, and Vernon paused to figure out how to pursue it. Vernon passed away nearly a year and a half ago. It will not be completed as Vernon would have done it. But Vernon was no fool. He had back ups of his back ups and he didn't lose a thing because of the Blipocalypse. He was always considering how he would continue the project. Just never got to follow through. Vernon became the unofficial Star Trek: The Experience archivist. His joy and love of the facility was like no other. And being a gregarious person, he made friends and contacts that you wouldn't believe. Years after the closing, people in theme parks or studios would email him with "I've got some footage for you" that they stumbled across somewhere. He was the man for the role of archivist. It is heartbreakingly true that fifteen years after it closed, The Experience had it's greatest loss when we lost Vernon. His closest friends have access to his effects. One of the things we are searching for is Star Trek: My Experience. It's in a hard drive somewhere, waiting for us to find it, like so much of our dear, talented friend's work. We will continue this search for this legacy.
Hey. It's Dave de Vos. Great vid! Thanks for the shoutout. Grateful for the entire team that made Star Trek: The Experience. I was privileged to play a small part. :) Vernon was a great dude - he will be missed.
I know what your talking about and this is based on what I know . This media is partially lost. Besides the script and photo ( on intercot ) there is not one video on RU-vid showing it from beginning to end currently. Why do I say currently ? There used to be a video of the ride in its entirety on RU-vid years ago. it exists. tho when I was trying to search it up recently, it was deleted ( possibly by the user or DCMA). I wish I could give you the name of the user who posted it, but I totally forgot who it was. My advice on finding it is you should look at Disney / RU-vid archives rather than say ATT cause I think youll have the best chance there.
One little detail, this backpack can handle a msi gt77 and a klim cooler, one of the few that could do it, but the padding of the laptop pocket could be better because if the laptop is with a sleeve on it, the backpack could not be closed
Too bad Arcade1Up messed up many of their releases with poor or inadequate controls and regurgitated cabinets. They’re getting ready to release like the eighth version of NBA Jam. Stoopid! They need new releases, larger screens, better controls, and improved cabinets. They’ve touched on some of this, but the darts keep missing the board.
Hi Maniac I’m trying to label my ROKU icon on input but I can’t seem to get to my keyboard? Looks like this part is frozen. Could you please make a video on correcting this particular problem. Thanks!
@@Maniac536 sorry I gave you misinformation actually it’s the Samsung Smart remote control that’s giving me the problem. I’m trying to name a label input but the keyboard won’t even show in order for me to label the input. I’m trying to label it as ROKU.
Power comparisons: A portable electric space heater draws 1500 watts. A single light bulb used to consume 60-80 watts (depending on the outlet/fixture). So….Your parents are wrong.
URGH!! I have basically the same TV. Samsung, same settings menu and all that jazz. I turn my HDMI on for my XBOX and have no issues. I turn the feature on for my TV and get absolutely no audio
This video just saved me!! I unplugged my series X and when I connected it back in, putting in my old settings, everything looked horrible, really oversaturated and cartoony. Spent aged on forums and RU-vid videos and was close to giving up until I saw this. Worked straight away and I would have never found it myself, thanks
