One of my favorite songs since the 1970s. This song seems to be one of the ones played most on podcasts. I was introduced to this song and led zepplin by college students who listened to led zepplin all weekend. They said they studied and smoked weed. They were all honor students. So I decided to listen and I immediately loved song. Jack black describes led zepplin as greatest rock group ever and he said you have to listen to their entire record history to understand. The lyrics are so fantastic. Just like rap music they've said listen to lyrics.
god this song brings back so many memories. i feel bad for kids these days. i was born in the 70s, grew up in the 80s, partied in the 90s. what a time to be alive!!!!!!!
Perfect interpretation. I'm always disappointed if it's misinterpreted e.g. thinking the first woman is just controlling and obsessive - no its that she's calling for someone not to die but stay alive
I was at a Led Zepp' concert in Los Angeles in 1969. Blew the roof off the stadium. We had never heard anything as inventive and exciting in our young lives - we were in our late 20's. And think about this: Bonham and Plant were 20 when this album came out. John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page were 24. And if you want to hear what Plant sounded like at 17, check out his rendition of "Hey, Joe!" on RU-vid where he and Bonham had a band, "Band of Joy." Jones and Page heard about this "kid" with The Voice and headed up country to Manchester to hear him. There are a few songs on the first album where they had only been together for THREE WEEKS!!!! Wrap your head around that. Meanwhile, Bonham started his drumming lessons at 15. His drumming idols were the best in jazz music. In five years he was drumming for the greatest rock & roll band EVER!.
No metaphors here...Papa IV is saying exactly what he wants to say...and blunt. They are a satanic band; Satanic as all Hell and they make no excuses. The vocalist Tobias Forge, has a background and love for Black Death Metal so he decided to go this route. I hate it that I love it!!! And this shit will drive you to a mental institution because the fucking songs won't stop looping in your head. Other than the Devil, great songs, I love them.
Best of you track came out in 2005. It's my favorite Foo Fighters track. If you want to dig deeper into their music, I would try, "Ever long." I love hip hop, too. Aaliyah is my favorite artist. Ever get the chance, listen to "Are you that somebody" ✌️
If it hasn't already been mentioned....the end of this song....longest piano chord in history of music. Also, this song was pieced together from two unfinished songs, by Lennon and McCartney. The symphony symbolic of a person fading in/out of a dream....
Yes!!!!!! My senior year of high school! 1985. To fully appreciate this song, see The Breakfast Club movie. About kids in Saturday detention and how they're all from different groups (jock, stoner, popular rich girl, geeky guy and girl). Great coming-of-age movie
