This is brilliant! It just made my day kick ass! This is my favorite version of this tune and to see youngsters making such a fucking rad video! I just love it!
+ChrisDillon I love it. It is large for a m4/3 lens, and very heavy, so I am often tempted to use another lens, but there are no others that are nearly as nice. If I want to really capture as close to the beauty that I see as I can get, alway the Voigtlander. Unfortunately, I did drop mine, and the focus and aperture dials are stiff, they can only be moved when not recording because it takes some strength to get through the sticky parts. The important learning here about Voigtlander is that local shops will not work on them, the parts are hard to get in the US, so If I want to repair I will need to ship it off! For now, I deal, It is nice to have a restriction that encourages you to move the camera to maintain focus. I would be very interested to try the 25 or 42mm versions. I don's see distortion on the 17, and it is nice to really capture everything in an un-planned shoot, but I do think closer would be nice in some of my results. I assume 42 is what fills out your kit the best, but if I can ask, what do you forsee using it for? ~90mm equivelant puts you pretty far away from the subject in most cases, is that the nature of your work? Or do you just like your subject to really fill the frame? Photo or Video or both?
+Korbin Bennett-Gold Interesting about having to send it awa for repair. I'm in the UK so it'll probably be similar. Re: the 42.5mm, my goal is to produce videos for people (local companies and beyond), this would be used for the part where the business owener or whoever is being interviewed. I think that works much better with a portrait style lens vs a wider angle. I already have Panasonic wider angle lenses, but I'm considering another Voigt there, or maybe the Sigma 18-35 with speedbooster! Have you used that?
From his appearences on TV, in "The Last Waltz" and on all of his recordings, especially "EAST/WEST," he was sure something very extra special...so was the band!
I know about the spelling, passmore yelled at me fore it too, but haven't bothered fixing it cause I re-wrote the script to include most of this, but otherwise completely different from the original un-finished script this was the beginning of. I finished shooting right before I left for equador, so when I get back I'll edit and post by time schoold starts, I'm really excited about it don't miss it.
