yep, original spheres was repairable , the sphere on this SM are sealed (unrepairable): With special equipment, we could unscrew them, replace the membrane and refill with nitrogen...
Our neighbour had one in the 70s , and the envy of all in street. Wonderful design and technology , before the Citroen fell into poor quality and poor design lines. They are still around in the form of PSA, made using nuclear generated electricity , opposed by early environmentalists and now the envy of German manufacturing gas & coal guzzlers 😜
I'm sorry, but I think that might be incorrect. Both the carburated- and later (from 1972) the injection electronique versions had a 2670cc (2,7 liter) engine. As far as I know, the 2965cc (3,0 liter) engine was used only for SMs with automatic gear, from Borg Warner.
@@tasospappas6627 There might’ve been differences per country then, I guess? I mean, in general I suppose Americans have always had a preference for automatic gears, so no surprise there. Over here (in the Netherlands that is, I’m a Dutch guy), from 1972 - ‘75, I’m sure that the SMs (appr. 100 were sold back then) had the 2670cc-engine, which is confirmed by the original Citroën-leaflets from this era that I’ve always kept all these years🙂 Btw, I love your pics of the speedometer in your profile. @@sanderdegroot6628 I have heard from a swiss restorer that after 1972 all SMs were 3 litres. Probably have read it in Citroenet too. The picture in my profile is from a 1974 promotional video for the CX!
@@tasospappas6627 Afraid that's not correct. EFI was introduced in '73, but the engines were still 2.7lt. Only autos had the 3lt unit. Might have been different in the US.
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!!!!
Un placer ver esas piezas relucientes, lamentablemente, acá, en Uruguay y Argentina, se fabricaron con baja calidad, el chasis de chapa fina y apenas pintado, asi como los caños del armazon bajo los paneles plásticos, el óxido y la corrosion hacia que en pocos años se partiera. Tuve una y quebré el chasis, todo podrido, además veo que en esa version, lleva frenos de disco, mucho mas faciles de reparar que los de tambor que montaban por acá.... Muy lindos recuerdos de un auto divertido!
Чудо-автомобиль! Простой, не подвержен коррозии, можно самому собрать и разобрать, легкий. Охлаждение воздушное - жужжит как пчелка)) Просто мечта! Ездить за город на дачу, на пляж, в лес ))) Сколько же такой автомобильчик стоит, цена интересна?
