Hello there, I have two way of sewing the sides of the wallet. Either by hand or sewing machine. I simply fold to the size I want and sew each side with straight stitches. By hand I would sew blanket stitches which give a very nice edge finished. Thank for you comments. Hugs Bernadette
It really varies on the type of work and materials I'm using. But with these floss my go to number for DMC is always two strands. Thanks for watching. Hugs Bernadette
Thank you from Tasmania, Australia. You gave me the idea that I can draw my own pattern for sashiko style stitching. I had not thought of that before 😊
Love the fabrics. Can you tell me the size of your base piece. Thank you from a newbie to slow stitching and Boro Sashiko. I am thrilled to have found my new hobby and to make wonderful things for my friends. Hugs
Yes and yes this project I start at 12x9 inches. I love to give myself plenty of room as we sew the stitches our fabric will create a little peaks and valley which will differ with our measurements a little. After sewing it together my end measurements is 11x7. You can certainly make your wallet at any size you desire. Just remember to give yourself plenty of seam allowance as I did :). Happy sewing. Hugs Bernadette

Stabilizer? Is that the word you were looking for? I really like your technique, the feather stitch joining of patches. A fun way to practice different stitches. ❤
@@albatoolideas5779 Thank you so much. Your very kind words means a lot. The one overlooking the beach was my view from our hotel room when we visited Hawaii and the flowers I took myself throughout my travels and a few from home. I figured it's view than my cutting board LOL. Hugs Bernadette
