I couldn’t cope with those legs on tray pal plus the size bulky carry it all the maver trays the new ones have the same self supporting knuckles as the octbox trays
Hy , any update on the tray ? Can you use the supporting arm if you put in on edge frame of the tray? Also i was looking to get the matrix offset modular side tray 25mm legs(the Z shape ones) that would help with the problem
Hi mate, I got rid of it altogether lol, it was just too bulky for me in the end so went back to a normal side tray.....the offset legs are a good option though as the support arm just doesn't work.
Every single one has front wheels that are not on straight … the Chinese sweatshop where they are made obviously cannot be arsed resetting the welding jig. I bought mine from AD on line and was so disappointed with the quality that I took it straight back to the local AD shop. They didn’t really want to take it back until pointed out that I didn’t even need a reason to return things bought on line. They also claimed they had had no other complaints about them …. Really 🤔
I have a Matrix barrow as reviewed and I think it's absolute crap. The build quality is awful, the wheels don't go on straight and the handle on mine doesn't line up because it has been welded out of true. When loaded the whole thing flexes in use because the metal used is so thin. Went back to using my old barrow and will sell the Matrix one.
I had the same issue had some Preston ics gear and had to sell up and swap to matrix as there was just no stock. The only thing I wish is that matrix did is an interchangeable cage feeder for the range. Other than that it's brilliant stuff!
I have got the New Cresta 4/5 Rod Hard Case which holds 2 x Feeder Rods, 1 x Bomb Rod, 1 x Pellet Waggler plus Room for a Landing Net Handle. Also space for Quiver tip tubes for the rods. Heavy duty foam hold every thing tight with no movement. I have customised the Foam pads by cutting shallow recesses to position rods. Hard Case made of Heavy duty ABS. No chance of damage in transit and compact.
I swear by the Preston Ventalite XXL with hood. 2 connecting points and i use the support arm coming from the middle leg. No need for spare legs angled or not. Also no issue with the narrow pegs,
The MAP barrow is a 100% better than the Matrix one. It has the same issue with if you put a bag in the bag under the handles it will tip up. However the rest is amazing. I have also got the XXL Bag on the front which is so usefull. I got the Matrix Pro36 box which is superb and fits on the MAP barrow. Great video though
perfect...i have been trying to decide between these 2 trolleys and have the same box as you .. any tips would be much appreciated before i commit to buy please ?!
Build quality for mine is not good, a couple handwheels have broke. Welds have snapped and box section areas split. So now I don't have a place for the vertical retaining piece as my front wheels now go into them. One of the handwheels you tighten to hold the handles in place broke so had to drill through and use a wingnut and bolt. Otherwise the size is ideal, I like you can alter the height of the handles and both the carry bag and trolley bag are decent hard-wearing. I've yet to find a really good match trolley, would still be using my carp porter if I had a van.
Great informative video as always 👍. I like you went from the Preston 2 wheel trolley but to the MAP 4 wheel barrow instead of the Matrix version. Simply can't fault it at the moment but you definitely need to put your seat box on first the same as you mentioned
Had mine nearly 3 years, had issue with wheels coming loose in beginning, threadlocked them and not had any issue since, I have to break it all down and build up every session, other than that a sturdy piece of kit
@@jamesstridgen6320 On the market there are a number of products that you apply to the threads of the fixings that prevent thenm working loose when in use,Loctite is one,but there are others, buy the semi permanent kind, just in case you have to break it down,a other tip is only apply to first 5 or 6 threads, as this will screw down, better,in my opinion, hope this helps
I've had this barrow nearly three years ,and apart from it being a nightmare to put back in the bag , I've not had any problems... I've had a maver , map ,etc, and all these have eventually snapped. I have tons of gear ,and never feel it is gonna snap... Great bit of kit in my opinion, I have tried others..
I have a Preston 4 rod one. 2 in each compartment. When the made up rods complete with reels are in, the rods fit in slightly staggered so the reels are above each other. Is that possible on this one.
Always take a battery charger…they are not expensive, people don’t because they are lazy, ill prepared and full of excuses…even my kids carry portable chargers! How many times do people ask for a charging cable or battery charger when they are out? Loads! People are also not aware that an emergency call is boosted by the phone and the receiving equipment for those calls is very sensitive. Lastly, unless you are a hermit with zero friends or relatives you have the option of texting someone before you leave to let them know where you are going and what time you intend to return. That’s without an app…imagine the extra benefit of actually downloading something for free as the icing on the cake. A panic alarm is better than a whistle because if you are incapacitated and struggle to breath how eg broken ribs how are you going to blow a whistle? A crappy pull cord pa is only a couple of quid. A wrist watch panic alarm is less than £10. Modern battery chargers come with a solar panel and led lights that can be set to flash as an alert system and uses very little energy. I’m sure I will be slated but that’s just modern Britain these days.
I find it strange that most of these hard cases don't have external pockets. That's why I went for the Daiwa N'zon 4 rod version. External pockets for brolly, Banksticks and tips etc. Great bit of kit.
