You said to hit you up with an email. How do I get your email address? I have been wanting to build one of these forever. I like the way you got the book centered, as you said it avoids the post-processing problems. I would love to build one just like this. Could figure it all out on my own (maybe) but would be much faster if I could pick your brain. How can I contact you?
Neat design, seems very simple and useful. Would you follow up with your findings on resulting quality, centering issues (if any) and total cost and construction plans/suggestions? Thank you for posting, this design seems about as simple as it can get with 'automation' in mind (aside from the two cut box approach with low end digital camera).
Nice, so jealous. I just finished with 580 pages of chemistry text book (slightly glossy pages) by setting it on a folding chair seat back and take odd pages, then take even pages, about 3.5 hrs I did this. Then I used a rename utility to rename all the odd pages as 1-a, 2-a, 3-a, etc; same with even pages as 1-b, 2-b, 3-b, etc. Then rotate the pages with Scan Tailor, processed the images, then convert them into pdf's. W/ ur system, it'd probly take about 40-50min.
