The same thing happened to my 5.3. Turns out the number 6 intake lifter “separated “ from the barrel. Do you feel the need to replace both sides of engine? Odd side and even side. Or just replacement of one side is enough. Thanks
Was it slow start after engine warms up or cold starting. I have an 89 sbc slow start only after it warms up. I've tried everything but a new starter. It is a total rebuild
2015 Yukon here, started to get bumpy idle and rough low RPM driving. Noticed my oil pressure was only 20lb at idle. I suspicioned the AFM lifter fail issue because I've hated that system since I learned that it existed in my engine. Stupid insane idea to build something as destructive into an engine. I immediately got a Range Technology AFM disabler as soon as I bought the vehicle with 140K on it. It now has 220K and the rough idle just started at 220K. As a diagnostic I put 10/30 oil with Lucas additive in it rather than the GM recommended 5/20 "watery oil" viscosity. Brought the pressure up to 40lb like it should, apparently making the lifters work better, and the idle is almost normal now. It's been suggested to me by a mechanic it could be the lifters or might be an O-ring on the oil pickup tube lowering the pressure and making the (already somewhat damaged) lifters work badly.
I have the po316&306&304. Fixed the spark plugs. The water tank is needed water a lot. Probably wont smog with engine light on. So its done. Am I right?
I have an 06 and mine has oil saturation on the outside of the hose and I have those exact codes, could that brake booster hose be my problem if it has oil on the outside of the hose?
I blew one at 108k....had the mans tap a new thread set with a kit like this one. I think itbwas either cross threaded by me or put back in the way i took it out, euther way what i think factors in a lot is human repair errors. If another one goes i told my mechanic we will go ahead and do the other 7!
Question.. Can a bad fuel injector shut off that whole bank? Really hard to start due driver side bank not working, if i manage to get it stated after like 20 mns that side bank starts to work fine and i can drive it
Thank you I think this what going on with my 2016 ford fusion. With 50k miles on it. Great for life in Montana but in Az wtf lol. No one at autozone or ford knows about this it seems like. You get my like subscribe and comment for this ty.
I have installed this product on my 2001 7.3 and I bent the wires so they would stay away from gasket simply pushing wire is not enough because wire tension can push it back where you don't want it. Did my gaskets about 5 years ago 2019.
I have short term zero and long term %25. That means I have vacuum leak too or maybe something else because I have P0068& P0106 on my mercedes benz C250
Has anyone encountered this issue happening while the tranny is downshifting awkwardly going up hill. It was 96 degrees and sunny going up a 7% grade. Only time it has happened so far.
Thank you! I’ve been trying to fix my 05 Mercury Mountaineer with this same issue for the last 4 months! The Arizona summer has been brutal! This was incredibly helpful and exactly what had happened to my max ac panel.
I went through 4 intake manifolds on my Ford Expedition 5.4L in 3 years, then found out that my mechanic was only using Dorman intake manifolds. The last time I needed one, Motorcraft was on strike with a 5 month backlog, so I had no choice. It works fine until I have to go up in elevation, from Phoenix 1,000 ft above sea level, to 7000 ft in northern AZ. I'm going to replace it with a Motorcraft as soon as I can get one.
Hello Ron, i am working on a 09 4.6L Intake is there any solutions to permanently plug the stupid rubber cap at the rear of the passenger side. yes Dorman problem but cant get a Ford OEM Intake anymore
