Seeing this after what happened on that warp train. Hits different. This facade has had cracks in it from day two. Now we're about to shatter it like a brick through a plate glass window.
"we should foreshadow Don's true identity" "With the narrative device we created specifically to justify showing these things to the reader?" "No, some Mexican caricatures clock her because she dances bad"
Its the little scenes like this that you don't realize the writers were giving you huge hints about the sinners. The assessment from the Mexican dancers was hinting us that Don Quixote was just a manufactured personality.
@@miskakusriyadi1706I thought it was a coping mechanism or form of denial, until watching this video i had no idea Don might have been intentionally been playing a character of her own volition. I'm super keen for her canto
admittedly, her intro description describes her as being "deeply immersed in the role of a righteous Fixer, hence the exaggerated mannerisms akin to those of an actor." They were telling us "Don Quixote" was an actress' role from the beginning.
End of Canto 7 be like: Dante: Don Quixote... your dance is beautiful... Don: Is it insincere? Dante could only stay in silence. It is the worst dance he has ever seen in his short life. But it was the most heartfelt dance he had ever seen.
@@fohz0710 Perception is more "I heard you" or "I saw you" in dnd terms, while Sense Motive, at least in 3.5 rules, detects lies, detects hidden cues, gives some insight on what a character is thinking or hiding, for example. This guy does seem to have some skill in reading emotions, but on top of that, rolling a 20 means he senses that Don's entire manner is a fascade, and Don gets a grim reminder of that fact as well, from what he said next. However, his nat 20 didn't quite let him see what's BEHIND the fascade...
@@slh8505 Since the Kindred seem at least partially inspired by VtM, it feels more fitting to do WoD rules, in which that would most likely be a Perception+Subterfuge roll, since Perception applies broadly to determining secrets and Subterfuge is used to determine if and why somebody is lying.
Don was really about to activate her Bankai over her dancing being dissed. "You pathetic fucking mortals dare insult my Dance skills? You weren't even around when dancing was proper art!" - Blood Don, probably
