Hey folks! I've been diving into the world of 3D modeling from 2D blueprints recently, and boy, it's been a rollercoaster ride! One particular challenge I've encountered is knowing where to start, especially when dealing with intricate designs. It's not always straightforward to identify which shapes to subtract from the base structure, especially for complex models. Any advice on how to approach this from a conceptual standpoint would be greatly appreciated!
I like the simplicity, but I would also like to see some tests on it. Plot the output voltage vs. the load current and see what the no load to full load voltage droop is. Plot the efficiency vs. the load power and see where the efficiency tops out. A few other things you may want to do to make this safer: 1) Add a MOV on the mains inputs to handle spikes/surges. 2) Add a safety capacitor between the secondary ground connection and the primary neutral connection (2.2 nF, 1kV, class Y1). 3) Use 3M 1318-1 polyester tape for the transformer insulation instead of the Kapton tape. 4) Add sleeving to the secondary windings where they exit the bobbin and get soldered to the pins to prevent them from making contact with the primary or auxiliary. If you get inspired, a few things to do to make it emit less RFI and EMI: 1) Add X2 safety capacitor between mains line and neutral. 2) Add common-mode choke on mains inputs. 3) Wind the primary of the transformer as a split primary -- 1/2 the primary turns on the bottom layer closest to the core, and the other half on the top layer closest to the outside, with the secondary and auxiliary windings in the middle. This increases primary-to-secondary coupling and lowers the leakage inductance, thus lowering radiated EMI. 4) The safety capacitor added in step 2 under the safety points also reduces common-mode interference. @@davebalino Yes, your mains input is half-wave rectified as opposed to full-wave rectified. However, the term "half-bridge SMPS" specifically refers to a topology involving two transistors connected to the transformer, it's used for power supplies that have power ratings above what a flyback topology can handle. Your topology is the Flyback, not the Half-Bridge.

📍Very nice trick - the drawback is you need to wait until it finishes speak. How if we can save or download the result without waiting? I have the solution for that case and I use it frequently to save some article, paper so I can listen to it in the future while I commute, drive or bike! 😊
