Nice review! I don't agree though with the comment on the interior colour - the light grey is the coolest you can have, it gives a soft touch of luxury and distinction even if it is a sports car. Mostcars have black interior, yuk, so boring. This interior colour was what I looked for among other specs when buying mine. Also, those wheels don't do justice to the car, imho. I prefer it with the 2-piece AMG 19 inch with rivets.
The year I turned 50, coincided with the year I was promoted to U.S. Navy O-6 (Captain). With my “Domestic Commanding Officer’s permission (that’s my wife!), i “gifted myself a very low mileage 1990 944s2 Cabriolet….almost 20 years later, I still own and love the car! And….It still has less than 70k miles “on the clock”….and it’s never seen winter, as I “mothball her” (stored) 7-8 months a year. But I’d be lying, if I didn’t admit to some “911 envy”. So I am looking…..and while I’ve been concentrating on the 997 version, you, my friend, have me reconsidering a 996.2. Bravo-Zulu….very well done, amigo. Great video! Thank you.
these engines are bulletproof the only "issue"you might run into is the head bolts corroding and possibly snapping, you can get the updated kit and it's a bit of a pain to do but doable as a dyi job and not too costly
It’s strange, new s coupe is much smaller than CL class! It make the s coupe very not practical ! Bad ideas ! Hope the CL class will be opened one day in the future
Matt What years are exactly affected? Will S400 Hybrid year 2009/2010 have these issues too? Hi Matt, all of the years from late 09 to 14 had exactly the same issues! To put it candidly, Mercedes knew exactly what they were doing when they attempted to cover up the chronic issues associated with the S400 Hybrid; notwithstanding many poor unsuspecting buyers have been left with an expensive driveway ornament, with little value except for scrap. As I stated, even the repairs covered under warranty were made using cobbled-together parts that comprised of failed units being reworked with leftover parts they could retrieve. The entire exercise was a scam intended to cover up the engineering failure of their flagship model, nothing more, and certainly with little regard for the unsuspecting customer. Oh, and even if for some unknown reason someone wished to purchase an S400 and attempt to repair it, Mercedes no longer offers any of the Hybrid Power Control or High Voltage components for sale; says it all really!!! Best Regards Julian.
@@TrustMeIKnowEverythingit is a 2016, 2018 was a total facelift with the upgraded nav and dual screens you are right, but the 2017 also still had a slight upgrade from 2016 which the one in the video doesn’t have
@xboxxbox2497 they call the models 2018 when it's plated 2017. 2018 was nav update 2019 models so sold in 2018 was the full face-lift also called mark 2
i like watching your video it's just that there is some kind of jelly-ish motion on some scenes probably bacause of software image stabilization or some sort. But still that issue put aside, the car is totally a dream to get
I currently have a W221 S class and a W212 E class at the moment but I would love to buy a 2007-2013 CL 550 hopefully I can find a nice black one and hopefully it will have airmatic because I have a W221 s class with the abc suspension and I got rid of it before it ever gave me a problem with the suspension the abc setup has too many things to care for
Original Fuch wheels are high quality aircraft grade aluminum , lessens un-sprung weight. The wheels you conveyed are “steel”, are likely aluminum if original factory . I’ve a black/ black 83 911 sc targa turbo tail all original Porsche. Last offer was $350k USD. I’d might consider $1.3 M USD. I’m second owner since 1984. 110k miles . Its a Beverly Hills CA Porsche hence no rust. Essentially it’s not really for sale. ❤😅
