Dates are very healthy but not when they are pureed. They contain lots of fructose and it is absorbed faster by our bodies when the 'sugar-fibre bond' is broken by blending. Big doses of fructose may be worse for us than glucose. Smoothies and cakes that use blended dates are a treat - should be eaten in moderation.
@@abbyhillman769 just cook at the same temperature, same thing. I tried both ways. Check at 5 1/2 to six hours. It’s ready when Internal temperature is 200 degrees F. Good luck 👍🏻
I have an 11lb unleveled brisket, using a regular oven. I set my oven to 10 hours, 285. I understand it’s 1 hour per pound and to check after 9 hours. Once I check it I will add 30 minds or so. However, my question is, do I uncover to check the internal temp? I’m nervous since it’s for a family gathering. Thank you for your recipe
@@lizzieDriguez please check it after 6 hours, don’t be nervous and open to check the internal temperature. It should be good at 200 degrees F internal temp.
@@lizzieDriguez please don’t leave it for 9 hours without checking. It might be done at 6 hours or so. It also depends on the cut, if it’s flat cut, it won’t need a lot more. Good luck 👍🏻
I substituted the rice wine vinegar for appple cider vinegar because it’s what I had, and used smoked paprika instead of cayenne for the same reason. Absolutely excellent.
Guiltfree? Test your bloodsugar before eating this and 30 mins after you eat this and see your blood way higher in sugar. Which means an insulin spike. Never good. Looks very good though, but not guiltfree.

You're looking at it wrong, yes they are sweet but that's natural sugar found in fruits as well (very low on glycemic then other refined sugars) combined with fibers that help balance out the sugar intake in your blood, which makes them one of the best (natural-healthier-nutritious) replacement for your regular white sugar especially in baking so even if you're going on a no sugar diet you can eat them in recipes or alone they don't contribute in weight gain and they don't increase your blood sugar levels :) Side note : if you ended up baking it my mother used to make caramel and drizzle some on top of the cake which took it to another level

Baked one last night. Super good.Moist and not too sweet. I used chunky dark chocolate as toppings. Difficult to find buttermilk ( in Borneo) , so substituted with milk. Turned out well. Thanks. ❤
